I have mainly used a M-audio Oxygen 61 for controlling the synths in my MacBook Pro Intel DuoCore, OSX 10.6.7, blah, blah. I don't ever have any problems with it being recognized in Garageband, or Reason 4. I also run Parallels and Win XP for Cubase 5. Again, very few probs! I bought this handy...
Made some adjustments to the drums and sat the cymbals better in the mix. The bass sounds pretty good through the studio monitors, ran it through T-Racks for some mastering. Click the link above, should take you to the repost. See if it sounds a little better ... :)
Cool! Thanks for the feedback. We will be making some adjustments tonight in about an hour when I go over there. We are planning on using it for the rolling credits for a movie that my friend is producing the soundtrack. Appreciate the good stuff! Keep it comin. Maybe I will repost with the...
Please give it a listen and tell me what you think. It is an instrumental.

Thanks for the replies! I actually found that chart right after I posted this question. You helped me understand what I was reading on it, tho. Much to consider. The time warp tool sounds pretty significant for me since I want to do looped stuff as well as live instrumentation. Could you explain...
Wow. Those are pretty significant synths to lose. The Rhodes and B3's in particular. Hopefully there are comparable synths to make up for those ones, or useful plug-ins that could emulate them. Anyhow, I forgot I had posted this months and months ago and got on here with a very similar question...
Another question ... and maybe I'll open this up in another thread ... but what limitations am I gonna hate myself for being stuck with if I buy the Cubase Essentials instead of Studio. VST's, effects? Anything specific? I can't spring the 500+ for the full package, and might be hard pressed to...
If I were to run Cubase 5 on both a Mac and a PC, could I transfer files from one machine to the other. Each one would be able to capture specific instruments. I have an analog to digital interface for the Mac (firewire Presonus Inspire) and a multitude of VST's for the PC. I don't have a...
A friend of mine produced this for me in Cubase, Radiohead cover of "Lucky". I recorded all the instruments and the vox. I played his Variax for all the guitar tracks, just finished the the final mix last night. Take a listen and tell me what you think. It took us about 6 hours from start to...
And what might be the link of this mp3 clinic you speak of? ;) I, too, would like someone to hear the final mix of my final project here and get some feedback. Please link me ...
Never mind. Fixed my own problem. Note to self: make sure pedal is plugged into controller before starting program. The order of startup makes quite a difference.
I was trying to record my niece the other day playing the piano in Garageband. Using Macbook Pro with an Oxygen 61 USB. The recording sounded good while it was being played, but when it was played back, the damper pedal, or sustain was not holding the note. The piano came out all choppy, like no...
The new Macbook Pro's only have 800? I hope there is no problem converting. That would have been a stupid move for Mac, making tons of usable gear obsolete. Glad mine isn't brand new then. I have both. :)
The fact that your interface and external are both usb are in no way relevant to each other is any way, shape, or form. I can see no useful reason to use an external drive during the recording process ... just seems extraneous and unnecessary. External drives are back up tools purely. You record...
