Agreed... I completely see your perspective on that. Obviously having both is really what makes it happen. For an analogy for those to help understand in the easiest possible way, i see skill is more or less, the sand paper to a piece of wood. The wood is the talent, the sand paper is the...
What kind of bass are you going for? A bass with a bit more tone where its got some more definition? Or something that drives the song along? I would agree with what pikingrin had to say with the EQ. It can have a massive affect when done correctly.
I believe talent and skill are two very different things.
One of my teachers at university in my musician class, that i hold in high regard once told me talent can be curse. It took me a while to really figure that out, you know acknowledge what that really meant.
Often talent (in relation to...
Just build your own, its good experience and not that hard and if you have trouble google is your friend. I'm not to concerned with buying from ebay, you've just got to make sure you're getting what you paid for so make sure theres some form of a warranty for both the computer and a return...
My philosophy is, if you like and use the software, then support it by buying it. If your not willing to fork out money, theres other programs out there which can do a satisfactory job which you can download for free.
About what to purchase on the other hand, this board gets asked pretty much...
Did you have any cables running into a desk, possibly improperly? I've had this happen to me before at a venue where someone plugged a cable from my head into an insert channel by accident (stupiddddddd) because they got the line-in and insert mixed up and realised "oh there's no sound" so they...
hmmm... personally i'd choose a behringer over that phonic stuff, i'm just not a fan... Plus the postage is what $74 for that? I'd say try find something in the Yamaha MG range. It may push your budget a little more (depending on what that is) but not by alot. Just browse ebay till one comes...
It sounds like your trying to "multitrack" so you can have say like 4 tracks (ie, track 1 guitar, track 2 bass, track 3 vox,etc...). If i'm correct in saying your trying to record so you have every instrument on a seperate track which you can mute/solo, etc... without affecting the rest of the...
A good cab is just as important as orknork suggested. That being said, what are you going to run the head through as a speaker? I had a similar plan to you a few years back, buy a head first, then cab...kinda drifted away after a while and got board of going through a shotty PA for the time so...
We have mac G5s at my university which all have MBoxs, they all run fine ;) .
Haha, but i guess thats expected.
That setup would be fine for an mbox especially even if your recording one at a time. I'm running on 2.4Ghz, with a delta 1010 with 8analog ins/outs and its always worked great even...
hmmm true, i didn't mean to speak of it so loosely. Sorry, it was more of a general omission.
Yet i should have said "most" microphones will ignore the signal that don't require it.
That being said also with phantom power its compulsory that you use XLR only cables as XLR to a 1/4" will not...
Yeah only the behringer would you need phantom power, but that doesn't really matter as all desks (well, vast majority) have phantom power and it allocates the power to all the inputs anyway, not just one... And yes you can use other mics which don't require power with it on.
The mixer you will...
Thats great! I was even wondering about just getting a smaller card for extra inputs, and that does make sense that the delta range would use the same drivers.
Thanks for that guys
Hey There guys,
I've heard that with ProTools m-powered, you are able to actually run multiple delta 1010s without it limiting the use to one of those interfaces.
Anyone had any experience with this particular setup?
I too would also replace it and by myself. Though if you're not confident and or never have done any form of wood work, i'd recommend taking it elsewhere to be done.
Also, ProTools won't work with the specific units you listed (apart from possibly ProTools Free which you can only do 8 at a time anywho and is somewhat outdated).
