I went to the Music store the other day and saw the new dbx Master Processor. I was wondering what the difference is with it and other outbord processors. And are all the little packages that come with it like A/D canverters worth the high price. I like the way it looks on paper but how does it...

Emeric:
That sound's like a Bob Vila solution. I like the idea though. I've tried different mic positions and that also seems to work but I'm still getting a low droning sound that would probably be absorbed with a little "doghouse" for my tower. You should market those.
Thanks Man,

When Recording with computer based programs seem to be picking up the sounds of the computer with my mics. How can I get rid of this without paying for new parts?
(Maybe it sucks that My mics are so sensitive! HA!)

I wanted to know, before I mix down my first song, exactly how the pan works. I know that it selects the side of the tape that the audio will go on, but when I record something far right, will it show up there when I mix down to stereo or will the pan control control the placement of the audio...
The funny thing is that I am graduating from Penn State in One Week. I know that I will not be able to do just recording and production when I get out of college but it would be my ideal career to just be able to make music and get paid for it. I'm not really big on the amount of money I make at...
Dude,
Gimme some info on the VS-880. Do you love it or what? My friends at WZZO tell me it is the sh*t. Do the files take up too much space or can you save them externally? Did you ever work with 1680?
Late,
Flyin
If you are trying to save an audio file, it is going to be large. This is because you are actually saving the audio itself, which requires a lot of space on a computer's memory. If you were saving MIDI information it would be much smaller because MIDI information is instructions for audio, not...
I'm not sure if anyone out there deals with this kind of topic but I could sure use some SOUND advice. I'm looking to study audio production at a school in order to get my foot in the door. I was accepted at the Conservatory of Recording Arts in Phoenix and I wanted to know if attending this...
Maybe this is a dumb question, but what is the difference between balanced and unbalanced I/O? If you could also be so kind as to let me know the advantages and disadvantages of both and what situations I would use the. Thanks a MILLION!
I just wanted to know if it is necessary to dedicate the PAN to a certain side when mixing down to stereo. I have a TD-4 from Tascam and I have already recorded the tracks I want. For the mastering process, I would like my vocals to stay in between and have my guitar leads shift from side to...
