Just wondering for a few expert opinions. DO you think the old m-audio studiophile BX8's are better then the new version bx8a's? AND....Do you think the old Studiophile BX8's are worth more USED then the new BX8a's (also used)?
I remember reading on here awhile back that people thought the old...
So its like ... basically... better sound cards and drivers only dedicate to playing one "signal" at a time? Or maybe a better way to describe it would be...
They are dedicated to putting all their energy into one source at a time to give it their best!
lol thats it in a nutshell huh?
Ok so I'm using the Mackie 400f as my interface and I use its equipped ASIO sound system. Say if I have windows media player open and playing something and then happen to browse to oh say... youtube the audio wont play. Or if I'm palying a video with audio on youtube or some other site and I...
Yeah, and thats what I do too. I was just curious because I ran into an instance where my onyx wouldnt record through a specific program. The program is Replay Music and it has the option to record whatevers playing through your soundcard. Oddly enough it wouldnt pickup what was playing through...
My speaker monitors are hooked up through my mackie onyx 400f (Click to view.) My question is... Is there anyway to channel my motherboards onboard sound card through the onyx so if I needed or wanted to use the onboard sound I could hear it through my monitors?
Just wondering.
yeah im gonna get a compressor and better vocal mic next and just stick with the mackies preamps for now but i used a focusrite preamp on a bigger unit that had a preamp, eq, compress, vocal harmonizer on one rack unit... and really liked the sound with a blue mic... so was looking more into...
So what is that really doing in terms of what its using from the mackies onyx and the focusrite? Is it just using the mackie as a way of relaying information to my computer or is the sound from the focusrite actually being impacted by the mackie onyx 400f before it goes into the computer?
And thats why every little bit helps. But really my computer/ homely recording setup is the main thing that sucks our energy besides our fridge. Everything else I keep unpluged or throw a switch on and off on a powerstrip.
I have a computer fire wired tothe mackie onyx 400f...
How would I hook this focusrite trakmaster pro Screen shot of the back up to my setup?
im guessing i'd have to run it through the onyx since thats really my sound interface... in order to get the signal to my computer?
if thats the case...
Hey, one more thing if ya dont mind... since you seem to know about electricity... is there a device I can plug stuff into to see how much electricity its using and kinda get an idea or even calculate the cost of it? I know electricity charges vary etc. but still... I always wondered that.
Thanks!
Kind of an off the wall question, maybe even stupid but I just wanted to make sure. I'm kind of an energy saving nut since I got married and have to pay more bills. lol
Anyway so if I leave my power conditioner plugged in but off is that using any energy?
I would assume its not since I would...
Ok I was wrong... the stupid surround sound system picks up a radio channel plugged into the laptop or not.
I guess Ill go through the manual and think about getting some better cables.
I got a Dell Inspiron 5100 which I sometimes hook up to my little cheap walmart surround system to play music. When I turn on the system theres a radio channel... always. Its really faint so you cant really hear it while music is playing but the radio channel is still on while music plays (on my...
I got the panels shortly after I order and installed them the next day. Takes about 45 minutes per panel depending on your situation I guess. I'll take pictures if anyone cares to see. I only put two up for now until I can order more but they look really nice. Also was surprised to see they had...
I wonder why it says point toward a corner or book shelf? Book shelf? I guess so the books act sort of as a sound diffusor? I wonder if doubling up on the moving blankets would help some too?
