    About white noise, pink noise, and brown noise

    Thanks Bobbsy, I've wondered about the noise thing for a while. All the suff I've read on google about the subject made my one remaining functional brain cell go onto shock. :eek:

    Noobs and equipment

    A little over three years ago a friend and I decided to make an album strictly for our own amusement. We had jammed together and played a few charity events. We put a cheap dynamic mic in the middle of the floor going straight into Audacity and hit record. The result was so bad I was stunned. I...

    Really Nice, the finish seemed to turn out very well. I love real wood, what type of timber is that?

    Looking for a Studio Desk around $300 or under.

    Here are some photos of a desk I made a while ago. At the time there was a lot of problems trying to post the pictures. I didn't use any plans, I just measured and cut as I went along. I had a main idea in my head of course. Send me an e-mail and I'll try and put together a step by step plan. A...

    What next piece of equipment is most crucial for my home studio setup?

    Greetings, You asked a very broad question, making it difficult to answer. What you do next depends a lot on what your goals are for the near future and how far along you are in achieving those goals. For the time being just put your money in the bank and don't rush to spend it. Both items you...

    Advice To Buy or Not. Focusrite Liquid mix 32

    Greetings, I interpret the lack of response as a negative, so I'll pass on the liquid mix, also he was asking too much for the mics compared to the new mic price.

    Advice To Buy or Not. Focusrite Liquid mix 32

    Hi all, I have a chance to get a Focusrite Liquid mix 32 at I think a fair price. Does anyone out there own this unit, and would it be a sensible purchase? Is the unit a justifiable expense? I'm fairly new to recording and just learning about the gear. My current system consists of Logic Pro...

    let me see your studio!

    I did not take any construction photos. The yellow thing on the left is the corner trap and the stripe bit behind the monitor screens is 1 of the absorbers. I used 3/4" x 4" pine boards with 1/2" x 2" strips for the braces put in acoustic insulation, (I don't remember the insulation specs.)...

    The missing photos. I've made 2 corner bass traps and 2 absorbers, they made a huge difference in the room sound. The photos are not being shown, No idea why.

    Building A New Desk

    Good looking desk, what type of fasteners do you use on the joints? I've avoided using mdf because I think the joints to be too labor intensive. (no facts to back up that assumption) I just finished a desk of my own, as soon as I can get one of my teenage sons show me how to do it, I'll post...
