Just recorded a bad band...I need tips on how to mix them

You might wanna try the L3 multimaximizer on the drumtrack. I will allow you to set separate "walls" for separate freqs, it might help, but as someone else here also said: It will even out the sound, but it might sound odd cause the timbre of the drums will probably be way of... -Nito

    Trying To Get this effect.

Probably an exciter...what it basically does is to spike up the ultra highs freq to add some clarity. On the last sample (the Jay Z one) it did sound like a stereo enhancer was added to it. It wides the stereo perception to add interest and depth to a track -Nito

    Mastering?

damn....southside glen...I almost feel like handing you a plaque for the effort you felt the need to put into the post to me...but I'm not... I don't justify the theft of softwarebased products, I'm just saying that there's alot of proffesions out there that will gain from it in the end. Loss...

    Never ending Tempo problem, blarg!

An easy way to do this is to just listen to the pre recorded track for about 10 seconds and then act nerdy hehe result after 10 seconds of counting beats * 6 = the correct BPM... There's about a million different ways to do this, but I'm not all that familiar with acid or FL so I thought of...

To all my producers on here, does this happen to u?!

I think that on rare occasions and with a really tight and unique sounding beat you won't get that looks...but most of the time a beat kinda sounds great to the producer cause he/she "adds" some elements mentaly that rappers/common people doesn't think of...hence the funny looks from them...I...

Probs with bass sounds in FL4

I'm not a user of FL (for reasons I won't even try to explain here...) but it might be as simple as bad speakers, or a muddy low end in the signal. I'm basically guessing here cause none of what you said sounded familiar to be, in terms of names and such. -Nito

    Mastering?

I didn't read all of this cause it simply fell out of topic alot of times even before I hit the mid section of this thread... MASTERING: I'm afraid there's no easy way to do this. It's not a combination of buttons and there you go. It depends on what style of music and such. Alot of engineers...

    I need talent...

Good point, allthough I have scoured the forum in the past and posted some samples. I'm aiming to send the samples to the individuals. That way I know what style they're into and can match it up with my own stuff before I send the samples. I'll check out your work rnb 259 -Nito

    I need talent...

from you! Allthough this thread is obviously for the beatbakers of us (as someone so aggressively expressed a while back...) I'm hoping skilled rappers check it out as well. I've got a couple of beats I plan to give away to some skilled rappers. If you're interested please send me a mail or...

what are your settings for quantization?

If I'm not mistaken there's a "quantize while recording" function in Reason to help you out with this problem. Also worth mentioning; you can sometimes get quite funky results if you ignore the quantise function all together. Quantising the hell out of things tend to make them really digital and...

Reason Guru Now In The House!!!

To me, it's like this. Someone that truly appreciates music would find factors in every genre to appreciate. No matter what type of music you are listening to, it's all buildt up around the same principles in the end. I used to have a one-tracked mind when it came to music, but broadening my...

Reason Guru Now In The House!!!

This part of the forum is stacked with people disuised as beatmakers/producers...but still it's lacking musicians...anyone offended? Good! These days a "producer" is about a dime a dozen, and that's pretty understanding concidering the fact that everybody can produce at home. Lacing a track...

    Drum, Drum, Drum, Drum... DRUMS

You might not think it's worth to buy them after you've bought them...Just get some samples from all over the place, if you can't sample it your self that is. Mount them together to what you want. Chances are that even if you do buy some samples you're gonna layer them anyways, so why let them...

Reason Guru Now In The House!!!

Basically you're using the soundbank of the 2.5 instead of the R3 version...Even though it's as Rush said; The same thing only with more stuff. Propellerhead decided to leave all the old stuff on the Factory Bank for R3 so that it would be backwards compatible with previous versions. I agree...

    beat making help...

You need to keep the tempo at somewhere around 70-100 (it all depends) Start out with looping just one bar. (Press ALT-left mouse button on the 2.nd bar marker) Plant a snare at the 2 and 4 measurement inside that bar and off you go. Sounds like you have a spacing problem...nothing more. -Nito

    Check this out....."Whateva The Cost"

Not bad at all man. Deep, serious feel to it. I'd say it would match up with some serious and heavy rhymes on it. That guitar lick is the icing on the cake here, and the chopped piece that "answers" the lick is doing a great job gluing it all together and making this a sweet beat. -Nito
