    Youtube behind the music

The first Rutles album was done in 20 minutes... the second, took....even longer. It was a legacy that would last a lunchtime.

    Over compressing/the loudness war

good point. Pretty much every death metal band I've done a mix for ends up looking like a brick. Also, I use a lot of synths through bit crushers and shit...so that could contribute as well.

really interesting music to listen to. Very cool. Add. It kind of reminds me of... days of the new...only on electric guitars.

wow...how do they get away with $7 beers there? I mean.. they do that here all the time, but you go to the liquor store and beer is like $25-$28 for a 12 pack...a bottle of wine minimum (the cheapest wine you can find) is $10 a bottle, hard liquor is like.... $35 - $38...etc... I'm surprised...

There's musical dynamics and there's dynamics in the mix. The dynamics can be achieved with the arrangement just as easily (more effectively) than the mix. sure. I can go with that.

    Over compressing/the loudness war

sure I'm not saying that. Might I add, one should be aware of whatever rules, and how it benefits you and how it inhibits you, before you go about breaking them. I'm well aware of every traditional and conventional way of doing things, and I know what pros and cons each technique will provide...

    Over compressing/the loudness war

actually. This is very true. The kind of shit the average audio professional puts at the highest priorities are the things that people buying the records could care less about. The visual presentation of the waveform is almost stupid to think in itself will make any difference in the enjoyment...

    Nightmare engineer thread

Some live show weirdness...since there's a lot of that being talked about. One show of a band that I had. The guy booking it died right before the show, we didn't actually find out until we showed up. It was an outdoor show, and there was a church right next to the park where we were doing the...

you must not be familiar with that figure of speech. It means, I was verbally ripping him a new one. I was reading him the riot act. You dig?

    Nightmare engineer thread

I was laying down some keyboard tracks at a studio... some dipshit in one of the other studios gets this idea in his head that since we're doing heavy music, and he's doing emo, we're making fun of him.. I didn't even know he was in there until his outburst... he busts into our studio in the...

actually.. . . . . . Tricky does that sometimes, from what I've read. I like Tricky. Cream cheese goes wickedly on a bagel. Fish. and... chips.

    Over compressing/the loudness war

sure, I can show you music that I personally find very invigorating, exciting, fresh, and original... but who's to say you would feel the same way. It's subjective. If you want links, I'll be happy to give them, but I'm not convinced that you're not one of the typical "good ole days" analog...

    Over compressing/the loudness war

A link to what? Who's controlling music? Do I really need to spell that out? Carefully structured abuse can run full circle and become musical again, and not just in the recording process, compositionally too. In fact, most leaps forward in music history have been perpetrated by some very...
