i couldn't get my SP C1 to sound half-way pleasant. that microphone was gay to the max by my estimation. i traded it for a midi keyboard and another 57. back to the goddamn drawing board
one thing i realized is that if i write a good song (which is always), i can render a pretty good recording...
okay thanks for the resonse. isn't the mxl v69me supposed to be unlike the other budget chinese ldcs by virtue of its mellower high end? i've only read a couple of reviews of it but i think that's what they said. that the highs are less harsh. now i'm confused. have you used this particular...
okay, thanks for the information yous guys
StevenGurg, i'm actually leaning toward the v69 now based partially on your information. even though you prefer the ntk, from what i hear it's kind of sparkly. and i really haven't heard a cheap sparkly mic that i personally like. a "less sensitive...
mxl v69me
shure ksm44, or ksm32
rode ntk
wondering which of these would be best for me. i am looking for an ldc, and the one thing that i really don't want is high end that is really too bright. i don't like the way the studio projects ones sound and i will use that as a benchmark of my...
awesome, manning i'll try it. i'm using a turtle beach soundcard. i get okay sounding songs with it when i take my time and dutifully tend to detail. but i'm more concerned with my awesome songs time around. the chord inversions, if i get what you're saying, seems like a good/weird thing to try...
hey, fags i'm making a new record and i'm not going to put a lot of time into the recording. i would like your opinions if you got any, on recording a good sounding acoustic guitar and vocal track simultaneously with: i only have a 57 and a 58. so i don't have any isolation between them and it...
thanks for responding, guys. i found most of that confusing, but then.. i'm partially retarded. please let me refine my question with the following picture of my receiver:
i have a separate preamp for my table, but i don't wanna use it because i can't figure out how to ground it to my table...
hi pals,
i'm trying to go like this:
turntable ---> receiver ---> soundcard
but the problem is that my receiver only has spring terminal outputs. is there a way to adapt the terminals to a more usable kind of output? like rca?
thanks,
ms. merideth butt
hi, tma
i personally don't give a fuck whether or not your software is pirated. but for the sake of obtaining advice here, you might as well not mention it. you'll be instantly ostracized and ridiculed and generally looked down upon with incredible hatred for your evil ways. why hast thou...
hi,
i don't know how to record straight to cooledit either, but to record from the phone i use a phone control from radio shack, and i plug it into my 4-track. then you can open it in cooledit and make it sound better if you need to. it's $15
there're pros and cons, sucker. if you wanna compare the ability to program knob movements versus drawing envelopes... drawing envelopes is more precise obviously, but moving knobs feels cooler and is easier and is more natural. in a previous post, somebody mentioned that n-track studio is...
hi,
well i can do this on my 4-track by turning the knob during mixdown... but how in THE hell do i apply a dynamic effect on the 'puter? i want the effect to just taper off from 100% wet to 100% dry without any noticable cut-off. i'm very confused. i've got acid and cooledit
thanks
hi,
the mic goes like this:
mic, 424, computer
sometimes i record to my 424 and sometimes to my hard drive. when i go to my 424, there ain't no buzz. when i go to computer, there always is unless i back away from my computer by about 18 feet. that's impractical and against fire regulations...
so is there not anything i can do to keep my sm57 from buzzing when i'm working at my computer? this is getting retarded.
more importantly, can somebody please tell me the name of this song, i only know the melody of the main singing part of it and i don't know the words. it's like "la la la...
