Im comparing the song to proffesional mixes and the levels are much higher on the other songs. It's really bugging me.

A ribbon mic is a dynamic mic but I'm not sure what else it makes it different from a regular dynamic mic. I think there's a ribbon inside that makes it capture sound more "warmly"? I dunno

You don't need phantom power! :eek: Dude it's dynamic. You need a preamp. You can't just connect a dynamic microphone into your pc. You need a preamp to boost the signal.I suggest you get an interface with built in preamps. Make sure the preamp's EIN is atleast 50dB

That's strange because Tape Machine should make it lag more since its monitoring through the pc. But glad it worked True! ;) :D

I always thought LDC were better for the job. I have no experience with condensers but that's what I heard. THe small diaphragm have too much high end for acoustic, but again, that's what I hear.
