You could try using it in the sidechain of a compressor. I use some cheap Rane graphic EQs for that, and it yeilds good results. :D

Why not drop the volume of the beat, so that it isn't drowning your vocals out? Then you can limit/compress the master bus to taste. Or... Try parallel compression on the vocal track.

Title says it all... I'm looking for a cheap digital video camera with a mono/stereo line input, for recording band rehearsals and getting the sound from the desk. I know I could mess around with recording separately, but I'd like it to be simple and immediate. Any suggestions?

It may have been asked... Are the PSUs for the ACM-310 and others voltage switchable? As in, will I be able to use them in Australia? (230v)

I HIGHLY recommend going for something like the ER6i, made by Etymotic Research. They block out a ridiculous amount of sound and also sound damned good for something so small. I was using HD 280 Pros before I got these, and would never go back. They're about $70 in the US.

I've been using LE for a while now, and the lack of automatic delay compensation had never been an issue... BUT, now I'm wanting to use some outboard gear, and use the 'hardware insert' function, and the delay is annoying the hell out of me. It can't even calculate the delay like it says it...

I quite like the pink and purple ones. I think almost anything would look pretty good though, as long as it wasn't a SOLID colour.

An SM57 can be used for kick, but it's not ideal. Some decent kick mics to look at are are: Shure Beta 52 AKG D112 Audix D6 Sennheiser e902 Personally, I use an Audix D6. It's a very 'shaped' microphone with a very distinct sound, but it works for what I do.

I'd recommend going with a single 'better' monitor with a larger woofer, and mix in mono until you can afford another. If you compromise and go for a pair of smaller monitors, chances are that you will 'grow out' of them fairly quickly and want to spend another pile of cash on some larger ones...

For the Massey L2007, create a 'Stereo Master Track', and insert it on that. That will put it over the entire session. For fades, you can automate the volume on the stereo master track. I'm not sure how to explain, but it should be in the manual. To fade a single track, select the end section...
