Hi - this is a thread I have also posted on the Yahoo Studiomixmap group but since the activity there is really low (looks like days between posts...) I thought I would ask here too: I recently bought a Studiomix on Ebay to use as a Control surface for Sonar 2.2XL. I am running Win2K and...

    FOSTEX E-16 led's

The only reason an LED (strip or not) would fail in less then it's rated lifetime (years) would be if there was too much current going through it. It may be worthwhile to up the value of the series resistor going to the LED (or add one if there is none in the circuit). The cost may be a slight...

    Furniture building question

esun127 - You desk looks great! Usually where ever you buy the melamine, you can get the banding for the edges. The banding a thin strip of melanime that has an adhesive on the back face already, You apply it by running a hot iron of some sort over it (flat edges are OK with a clothes iron, not...

    Rock Wool & 703

Michael - I ended up cutting the rockwool to fit the 16"OC cavities. The slices I took off ended up being stacked in there too. Rockwool is really itchy... definitly wear gloves. I found it to be worse then fiberglass. Kevin.

    Luis's studio update is up

Luis - I'm glad to see your progress and glad to hear your getting close to completion. Things at lsf are going good. I'm done enough to keep myself from finishing :) We have been recording down there so much that I have been putting off a lot of the cosmetic finish details. All the rooms...

    Hanging bass traps.

The ones I've seen are fiberboard (the light breakable stuff) wrapped in dacron. Using a peice of 1x2 along the top helps ensure the wires etc.. don't pull through the fiberboard. Kevin.

    Sonar 2.2xl Drum map question

Well, the answer was that under Options->global->folders, everything was set to the sonar2 directory (install default?) with no subdirs specified. I changed Drum Maps to ..SONAR 2drum maps and everything worked great. Thanks for your help. Kevin.

    Sonar 2.2xl Drum map question

Hi - I have a basic question regarding the drum map manager. I just started playing around with it and have the following problem: I open a midi track and select drum map manager for the output tab. When that dialog opens, I select "new" but when I try to selct a preset, there is nothing in the...

I can't go any further till I know the "Speak"

I think Michael is right about it being Homasote. It is a soft fiberous board that can be cut with a knife (scored and broken). I have seen it used in studios here for bass trap hangers wrapped in dacron. It is available at the Home Depot near me (the one in Nashua) and goes for $11.00 for a...
