    Guitar and bass clashing?????

Hi guys, I'm in mixing hell once again. I think I have the drums and vocal working but it sounds as if the bass and the guitars are clashing. I can't get the seperation happening. And when it did sound seperated the guitars sounded like razor blades. Any help would be appreciated...

    bass trap height

Wow what a difference!!!!! It just deadened the room right up. I then played the song I was working on and WHAM a whole lot of bass in my face, which is why my mixes are so bass heavy and takes me forever to tweak and "guess" where it needs to be. This will save me huge time now. Why didn't I do...

    bass trap height

Hello, so I finally got around to making some sound panels/bass traps....question is what height should I put the corner ones at? They are 4x2 by 3" thick. Also one corner in the room doesn't space to put a 4x2 because of the closet door. Should I put one there anyways and just take it down...

What do you think of the low end on this thrash/death metal instrumental?

It sounds pretty good. I prefer the drums to have more snap.....I'm a huge fan of EZD. I started using on my stuff and think it is the best thing since sliced bread. They need a little work to get just right but amazing. I know what you mean about the bass. I struggle with it as well. there are...

Newest Piece - "All Those Lessons We've Forgotten"

YOu know the more I listen to people's original music the more I am enlightened by how much talent there is out there. This is not my type of music but I think it is very well done. It has an unusual sound to a....almost show theme kind of thing. I don't know..... anyways. Musically I like it...

A song dedicated to Steve Clark of Def Leppard RIP

Yes i agree. I farted around with this mix for quite a while. It was driving me nuts, because at the end of tyhe day it may not be the damn bass giving me the problem but some of the other intruments/vocals. And you were right on. I did drive out a lot of the low end from most tracks especially...

A song dedicated to Steve Clark of Def Leppard RIP

I loved Steve Clarks playing. He was a riff master and a great melody blues guitarist. The riff made me think of leppard and steve and once I started noodling over the chords for a solo, I thought of Steve. As for mixing....bass is what kept me in mixing hell. There is a frequency that is...

Need Feedback, Ambient/Metal Instrumental Song: "Edge of the Mind"

I really liked this from a song point of view. The mix is what's holding it back. The drums or bass sound strange to me when all instruments get going.i don't know if it's reverb thing or delay....something is getting it cluttered. The leads are excellent. I would love to try to sing over...

    A couple songs

I don't hear a ringing....just the same note that is in most of the chords.. Someday is nice...very country. The vocal need some tightening up....and of course harmonies are requirement 1 for a country tune. Also when you mix start with bass and drums Asa starting point. The drums sound...

Waves CENTER plugin or AIR plugin for mastering

Yeah I think #2 wins as well. i posted on another forum and that was also the choice.....the winner is AIR stereo width. Can you believe it? It could also be that if my mix was better then maybe that plugin would work better as well......interesting. Thank you to all who listened. cheers

Thanks for the kind words and most of all thanks for listening. This is only my second DAW created recording so all these plugin are new to me, but by now I find mix 2 better(AIR plugin). The reason I didn't mention which was which is I was having a hard time accepting that it sounded better...
