Yeah, it records at 24/96, sure. But whats the point of recording at 24/96 when your recording fuzz at crappy levels through bad DA converters?
It's like a digital camera that claims 3.0 megapixels, but all the pictures are fuzzy. YEAH, its technically 3.0 megpixels, but the lens, digital...
I dont know specificaly about this model sound card, but the general rules about soundblaster type cards are thus:
-Latency will always be an issue, this will be an extra headache trying to sync up tracks, and dont even think about doing anything live (I seriously doubt 2ms latency is what you...
A lot of that hiss is probably coming from the soundcard.
Ive done recording with soundcards and have always had to do noise reduction afterwards.
Problem is, they seems to pick up everything that is going on inside the machine.
A mic and mic pre, and an audio interface will certainly help a...
You certainly need to mic your guitar instead of going direct. For the Mic, use an sm57 - they're fairly cheap and pretty good. For a mic pre, do some searching aroudn the board for inexpensive ones. Stay away from Zoom.
ditto.
In fact, I looked into this model a little while ago (I believe it was this one) and almost bought it.
Looks like a pretty good rig.
What are you going to pay?
I would suggest searching this forum for "monster cable" and see what comes up. You will find the supposed pro's and con's of the cables as well as alternative choices.

Brown note.....I didn't know what you were talking about until I googled it.
for everyone else:
I guess the brown note is the note played by a black hole. It is a B flat and it is 57 octaves below middle C.
thanks!
thats a negative on the cds. We only have 5 songs recorded (4 of which are on the webshite).
We are trying to get something together - but probably not by saturday. :)
Good idea.....we had considered putting the computer in another room but it seemed like too much trouble. We hadn't considered just moving the bass amp :D
By the way, we're playing a show this saturday night at 11pm at the Scera center in Orem - you should come check it out.
Hopefully someone can enlighten me as to what might be going on.
We are using an echo mona audio interface and nuendo software for recording our band. Mostly right now we are recording our practices and such.
In one song I hit on the bass a high F and A together like this:
G----14-
D----15-...

You're right, you did get what you deserved. But I got a whole lot of respect for you for being able to admit it, and standing up to admit you were wrong. Props.
Too many people defend their stupidity all the way to the grave....

Ahh...Ignore jjtcorsair, he't the local idiot. I wouldn't let him control you by making you leave. Your welcome, english skills or not.

Those are the essentials to any song, at least...
Indescretion:
I think it would sound really cool with a full band setup. The chorus needs something to give it more of a "hook". Singing higher, backup vocals, or the right instrumentation (is that a word?) would definatly accomplish this. Or all together.
A Child's mind:
