idler tire for mr-1 delivered yesterday. d**m, awfully small. havent removed back plate in cassette well yet so i had no idea how small tire was/is. well, i'll wait till its open before making a decision to replace tire myself. i may just send it out-a minor pita.

whilst i've gone digital in most ways, i've never given up on the 'lowly' cassette. i've never stopped aquiring them since '73. with good recorders/players/tape, they can be quite impressive!

thanks for response! i was recently reading about the cams in akai recorders and how, because of the cheap metal used, they break down over time. i wonder if that is the issue with my 630d-ss (rhetorical-or not). i may wait and send machine in for repairs right after holiday season is over...
