oh boy... dpi isn't your concern... megapixel is... for professional print work generally 6MP+ basically an image like 2000x3000 etc.. just multiply the length by width and if it's close to 6 million (9 preferably) you're probably good enough...
for CD sized things 3MP would even work...

every time you go to an MS owned website they check you license... if they decided you're OEM key is pirated you no longer get updates... and can no longer activate, etc. pain in the ass when it happens...
also you can only activate online 3 times before you have to actually call MS to get the...
I used one as a DTE (video recorder) and it needed a RAM upgrade but worked pretty well... however don't hotplug firewire stuff with it as it will fry the system board.
DAW is a heavily moded Compaq Presario (2ghz AMD) running demudi linux

it was a litle bizzare to get rosegarden to connect to JACK the first time as it's buried in a menu but obviously once it connects to jack it's easy to get it to softsynths... and for me rosegarden4 was a vast improvment over SONAR 2.2's midi notation... but I know some people who still use KCS...
Outside of the US it's picking up popularity... primarially because of it's features and price... I've had two foreign colleges contact me this year with questions about their "new setup" one in vietnam and the other in france... more and more questions in the yahoo group are being posted either...
