Step 1 is to replace the plug-in relays on the transport control box. IIRC there are four of them…standard “ice cube” relays. Replace all of them with new. This will save yourself a mad amount of chasing your tail.

I would have to agree with RRuskin. The Model 10 feels more “serious” in its construction because it’s 20 years older than your M-2600, and was modeled after other consoles at the time…that’s 20 years worth of “value-engineering” reversed…but the Model 10 wasn’t nearly as robust as period...
