    What do... I .. do?

The thing about the number of verses was a joke. Like haha, get it? Anyway, forget analog. I can't believe people are still asking this question. Digital or analog, really? Get a firewire or USB card or something. Record using the card's built in preamps and a cheap mic. Then pay no...

Pop / Rock Mastered Polished Turd - Want Some?

Awesome. Keep dispelling the microsoft myth. Sounds great. Cymbals in Chorus are too loud, however.

    Audacity questions

I think you would be much happier eventually using Reaper, so you might as well start using it now. Audacity is simple but, IMO, has too many annoyances and Reaper is far more powerful stuff. You can hold on to audacity to use as an external editor because Reaper has limitations in this respect.

On Which Ear Should I Hang My Hat?

I don't touch the hihat. It can stay in the center where it seldom suffers from competition with the bass, kick and snare or even the vocal. I read somewhere a long time ago that "the hihat just takes care of itself" and that stuck with me. I'm a firm believer in that.

    Mastering With A Limiter...

My advice is to just forget about mastering for at least a little while. You'll gain far more from just moving to your next mix. Maybe one day when you feel you've "mastered" mixing, then move onto mastering. For me, that day will probably never come. lol.

    something doesnt sound right :/

I think you're on the right track with the drums. If you think they sound too programmed then add some more variation. The sound you have is fine. Second the comment about the bass. I didn't hear any; I have the TV playing simultaneously but I'd still expect to hear some more low end.

Rock and Roll Manifesto - My Punk/Prog clusterfuck

I'm listening on crappy computer speakers hooked up to a crappy laptop. I hear the kick crystal clear. That's all I have to say, I guess. Except, is this almost over yet? Shit, over four minutes left! :D Hey, the riff in the break that you ripped off Angus Young is pretty cool. One...

    Your opinions please

I hear what Gerg is saying about the drums. Seem to be the weak link in this one. They're not so bad but they could be a lot better. Strings are convincing enough, I suppose. Vocal recording is top notch. But, she says "God" WAY too many times. It's totally alienating. :D ;)

telephone wire - an original song written by a friend

Second mix is definitely better with vocal louder and drums lower. Hh is not bothering me so much.

    Please Listen...

I just realized, I suppose you are making a reference to that bizarre story of the jilted lady astronaut who drove across the bible belt - in diapers so that she didn't have to be inconvenienced by restroom breaks. Astronaut love triangle is a great name.

    Please Listen...

Kc is right about the drums. They need more volume. I think when people (or me) try to mix, during the process you can become so focused on a particular sound like, say, a kick drum, that your ears learn to isolate that sound and the result of all this attention is the sound comes across...

    Nazi naked girls surfing!

It sounds like the Orb. I actually think the snare drum is too loud, if that's possible for a song like this. It's more dominant than the kick and I kind of just want it to blend in with synths instead of laying on top of them. And maybe the snare sample sounds too much like a real kit for this...

1930's kalamazoo acoustic with vintage dearmond pu

Now, that's blues. Straight forward, honest heavy subject matter + blues = teh win. The noisefloor is really high for some reason but that actually makes a good accompaniment to an 80 year-old guitar.
