Tascam DP-24: Punching In / Transfering Files - BOuncing Tracks

I believe if you use the "Track Export" function each track is assembled into a single file before exporting.

Input eq + track eq dp-24

May I suggest a good resource for those who are new to the DP-24 and/or home recording? Tascam DP-24 (DP-32) DVD Tutorial | ProAudioDVDs.comProAudioDVDs.com ... I got this when I bought the DP-24, and found it useful ... especially for understanding how Tascam implemented FX. If you EQ the...

Would any DP-24 or DP-32 owners recommend the DP-32SD for $399?

I was responding to those who ignore the initial question and go on to offer ridiculous alternatives. A take-off on the old saying "Ask an engineer for the time, and he'll tell you how to build a watch". I was NOT referring to the OP. And thank you for your negative reputation points...

Would any DP-24 or DP-32 owners recommend the DP-32SD for $399?

question: I'm interested in buying a loaf of bread, what should I get Reply: Well, you could do that, or you could get some flour, yeast, baking soda, an oven, bread pans, and make your own. Just an alternative.

    Tascam DP24 Master Fader

Yep ... what they said. Master at unity. Actually, the master fader (and all the other faders) has NO effect on recording, only playback, but you knew that, right? I try to track at -12db to -6db for the reasons stated above.

    Question about my DP03 EQ

In the manual, Page 24, item 17 ... Rec buttons/indicators ... "Press these buttons when the TRACK EQ screen is open to select tracks" ... whichever rec indicator is lit is the channel to which you are applying EQ. While the EQ screen is up, just press the button on another channel to EQ that...

    2488 Neo vs. DP-24 or DP-32

For my purposes the DP-24 is just fine. I have no need for 32 tracks. I like the color screen, the noiseless solid state storage. That said, there are some features of the Neo that are attractive, but not necessary to me.

    DP-24 64 Bit Problem???

I think you're a little confused by all the bits and bytes. The operating system of your computer (32 or 64 bit) has nothing to do with the format of the WAV files. The DP-24 allows you to choose between 16 and 24 bit, and 44.1 and 48 kHz. In order to import a WAV file the song must be in the...

    DP-24 - I love it (so far)

You can buy those cables anywhere for $5-10 ... it's a regular computer non-polarized AC cord (for laptop power supplies). Nothing special. Find one that fits better. I've had no problem with mine, but it's stationary, I don't plug and unplug. I think Rolf is referring to the other end of...

Linking 2 DP-32 is this possible?

If it were possible don't you think Tascam would mention it in the manual? Have you looked at the manual (available on line from Tascam)? I did, and no mention of linking two units together.

DP24 WAV file import of files/work created by Tascam 788

Again, what is the error you are getting (exactly)? (BTW- If you won't take the time to read the manual, why would anyone take the time to help you with your questions?)

DP24 WAV file import of files/work created by Tascam 788

The only compatibility issue is that the WAV files must be in the same resolution ... a WAV is a WAV, it should work. What is the error (exactly)? To import/export WAV files they must be located in the AUDIO DEPOT folder on the DP24 (see page 80 in the manual). To my knowledge you can ONLY...

    Just got a DP-24

Interesting ... the Tascam website lists the latest update (June 2013) as version 1.12.

    DP-24 pre amps and stuff

Why? Regardless of the connector the signal goes through the preamp. I don't find that the preamps color the sound (that I notice). I apply gain in the preamp and compressor, and just enough gain on the input to give me a -12db (ish) peak on the signal.

    DP-32SD (Musician's Friend): Features/limitations

It's brand new, hadn't even heard of it till I read your post, and it isn't on the Tascam site. From what I see, it's a DP32 without the CD burner or midi. But it has one interesting feature I don't have on the DP24 ... From the MF description: I'm not sure I'd find it so useful, but some...

    To Choose a DP-24

Keith, outboard FX gets a little tricky, but it's easy enough to do. First, you cannot use outboard FX as a "dynamic effect" in the sense of Tascam's meaning (ie, applied to the input signal before recording anything). You can't apply an external FX to the input before it hits the track. This...

    DP 24 footswitch

That sucks. As to whether Tascam knows, why not TELL them what you experienced?

    DP-24 DP-32 SDHC compatibility

Yes, as long as you don't use more than tracks 1 thru 24.

    DP-24 - I love it (so far)

Only if you redefine words to your meanings. It's a 24 track, 8 channel recorder. But I suppose you can call it anything you want in your world.
