    some suggestions

Hey Sipi! I use the MK319. although I don't have a 012. The other mics I have are all Marshall's V67, 2003 and 2x603s. The 603s have been compared to the 012. But I don't think I'd say the 603s have an upfront sound. I love the 319 on acoustic guitar and voice. It seems very smooth and...

    DMT 8 VL Problems

Hey Thunder, I have the same problem when I hit play & record without any sound sources connected to the DMT-8vl. Once I plug something into it, the unit works fine. That might be some kind of safety feature or just a quirk of the operating system. Chips, I have had mine do some unusal...

    sperating instruments in a mix

Why don't you not add all the tracks? Sometimes keeping it simple is good. Maybe 6 guitar parts is just too many. You could also try using different eq settings for guitar parts that might be occupying the same frequency space. Maybe if you post it somebody here can give you other ideas...

    I just tried...

Tom, From 2.5 inches I would think all mikes are pretty sensitive to plosives, aren't they? If you like the 219 you should really try the 319! scodu

    V67G for $105 Shipped!!

I think we should call you Persistent Pete. You didn't give up and you got yourself a great deal! And that green is soooooooo funky!!! I was screwing around recording with 3 of my mics last night and my accoustic guitar. I was using a MXL 603S, Oktava 319 and the V67. With those 3 mics I...

Marshalls on sale at Mars really cheap.

Pete, You must have to go to one of the stores. They have a large sign when you first walk in the Sam Ash here that says "We will match or beat anyone elses price". Buy the black one from Mars. I'm still undecided if I like the green one, but it sounds good so it really doesn't matter. scodu

Monitor placement relative to ear level..

I have been seeing recently these foam blocks that are designed for isolating the speaker from whatever it is sitting on. They are also angled so if your speaker is too high it will angle it slightly down. Might be a great thing if your speakers are sitting too high. scodu

    Getting the proper signal

DVS, Maybe your singer has a powerful voice when she gets to the high energy parts of the song. A proper vocal technique would be for her to back off the mic while she is singing louder. Or she might be stepping into the mic to sing the higher energy parts, maybe try a popper stoper to keep...

Shockmount for v67 - Which is of higher quality?

Let me start by saying I think both the Oktava and the Marshall shockmounts are made by the same company, they really do like identical. Construction on these is rock solid. As far as the felt on the inside I think if you push the mic into the sleeve your going to have problems with the felt...
