I don't think it's incompatible, only because it worked for about a week and a half perfectly well before it started malfunctioning. I also am pretty sure I'm not running the NEC chip :-\

Questions about MOTU! First of all, I was wondering how to record 8 seperate tracks at a time in Cool Edit 2.0. The MOTU can do 8 at a time but how do I arm the tracks correctly? I'm having no trouble recording but i can only do left and right, not 1-8. Also, the motu I have is a MOTU 896...

Why not just get a decent quality 1 or 2 channel pre and save up? You'll probably be happier in the long run. Or buy the Nady for 90 bucks and slowly replace it with better pres?
