    First Mix of Song

Hey there. I liked listening to this tune. A nice mellow tune. Mix sounds good on my system. (a little bassy). Not bad. I did notice some scratching or popping noises in the beginning of the tune. Is it intentional? Also I noticed the vocals were flat more than once. I would re-do vocals if it...

I'm fried. Lend me some ears.

Well, I have been busy as hell this summer. But it is great to be back to HR.com. Looks like I am the last to hear this tune. But It sounds awesome. I am digging the guitars. The Mix sounds perfect on my system. Damn I wish I could play guitar like that! Steven

    Surround with BR-8?

Let me start by explaining that you can only record in stereo with your BR-8. You can keep tracks centered. You can pan to the right, or you can pan to the left. All of these options make up a "Stereo" recording. Wich is what you hear out of the Radio or on your favorite CD. I have no idea...

    Surround with BR-8?

I dont know alot about recordning in "Surround". Meaning left, right, center, front and back. But I do know a hell of alot about the BR8. I know that the BR8 does not record in true "Surround". It records in STEREO. What are you trying to do? I need more information before I can offer any good...

Recording on BR8 with a mic amp

Here is my 2 cents. The problem with using the insert effects is that you lose your true "original" sound from your guitar amp. Now, if for some reason you DONT like your original sound, By all means try to color it up with some different effects. I find it is always BEST to record dry and...

Recording on BR8 with a mic amp

LOL We have the same setup. I have the Behringer 1804X Euro Rack....... And I would recommend trying both scenerios. (Straight to the BR-8. and through the board then to the BR8) It all depends on your room/amp/mic placement and the sound you are searching for. Play around with it. The...

Recording on BR8 with a mic amp

This can be fixed by going into your Utility and choose "effects". Then choose "record dry". Also turn your Reverb down on your input channel. Thats how I record my guitars through my BR8. You can hear the kind of sound I get at www.mp3.com/steven_diemert Lemme know if you have any more...

    Anybody with a BR-8

After I get my mix just the way I like it in my BR8, I send it via the digital out straight into Cakewalk on my computer. Thats it. I am sure everyone has different ways of doing this, But this method has worked for me very well. You can hear the quality I get at: www.mp3.com/steven_diemert...

    Boss BR-8 Bounce Recording levels...

If it was me I would try to keep all the similar intruments together. I would imagine your mixes are sounding bad when you try to mix guitars and drums and bass down to 2 tracks, just so you can add some bongos. Keep the bongos with your drum mix... Keep your Keys with your rhythm guitar mix...

    Boss BR-8 Bounce Recording levels...

With the BR-8 your Bounced recording should be exactly what you are hearing on the multiple tracks before you Bounce them to 2 stereo tracks. What all are you trying to Bounce? Keep instruments together. For example. If you have multiple GUITAR tracks.. Different sounds, different guitars...

I have tried recording acoustic stuff as well. I would be happy to share how I get my acoustic sound. Take a listen and let me know if...

    BR8 recording

The key (for me) to a really cool full sounding guitar is depth and seperation. Depth: I achieve serious depth in my "Guitar sound" a few different ways. I first record a guitar part. (With the least amount of reverb as possible) Then I will go to a new track and record the same part again...

    BR8 recording

If you are looking for the BESt way to do it. And the BEST sounding recording. Than I would have to insist on recording each part seperately. Thats the way the Pros do it, and thats the quality we are all chasing. You must record seperately.!!!! Trust Me. Steven

    BR8 recording

The first thing that comes to my mind here is "Micing the PA speakers". I wouldnt recommend this technique. I would suggest unplugging the PA speakers and using head phones instead. Use the 2 mics you had on the PA speakers for extra drum mics. Try to get a good sound in the BR8 totally dry...
