I was just fooling around with a mix of mine in Cakewalk and I am adding some plugin FX to some tracks. A question just occured to me, and I dont have the answer for it. So here I am seeking out wisdom again.

I wish each channel had inserts. But thats not the case.
I just want to know the standard way to hook this stuff up to a board without individual inserts. I know there is something I am missing. And I am sure its probably simple. What am I overlooking?

Hello everyone. I hope this is the right forum for this question.
As I search through this thread I cant seem to find the answer to what I am looking for.
The Board:
I have a Behringer MX1804X mixing board. The board has 14 channels. It also has a AUX send and a left and right AUX return...
I have done this both ways. And to this day I continue to do so. 2 guitars recorded in Mono then both panned differently. and 2 guitars recorded in stereo and panned differently.
Experiment with it. I dont have a preference.
Just thinking out loud here...
Why not just hit control+Alt+Delete and close all programs that are running?
I do that everytime I am working on a recording project in Cakewalk.
Yeah I love that crunch I get from my Les Paul. I just wish I was a better player. I am slowly but surely stretching myself musically. Leads are something new for me. In the past I was afraid to even try. I think differently now.

Right click the speaker icon at the bottom right hand side of your computer screen. Select "Adjust Audio Properties" Under the "Audio Tab" go to Sound recording and click "Volume". Now make sure you have the Line In selected.

Yep, keep the eq flat. I did the same thing for over a year. Then I got some real Monitors. But it worked for me.
Another thing you can do is Listen to some of your favorite CDs (reference CDs) through your computer, then through your stereo (with the EQ flat) . If your mixes sound close to...
