Hello, running Sonar 6 here-
I think I've figured out how to set up routing for sd2, now how do I program my own beats? Is this done in the piano roll view? Can someone please explain or point me towards a tutorial? Thanks.
I interned at a commercial studio that had concrete floors and the room sounded great. They did have a large rug in the middle of the room though. I would prefer wood but can't afford it. Marble deal didn't work out, anyone have any ideas for a cheap floor solution that would be aesthetically...
Thanks,
Bryan, so even if the rest of the room is properly treated with plenty of absorbtion, Maybe some rugs over part of the floor- do you think the marble would still create unwanted reflections? How is it different from wood? Wood is highly reflective too isnt it?
We have a nasty carpet...
Any reason not to use marble tile in a studio? I found a deal on some and it would look really hip in my studio, I'm just wondering about the acoustic properties of a smooth reflective surface like that.
So I keep getting stuck after one or two verses. Anyone else have that problem? How do you push through it? Here's the latest example of that. Any suggestions would be appreciated...
Brick by brick he built these walls
With these hands he laid each stone
Raised a shelter from the dirt

Anyone have any ideas? I haven't heard back from tech support yet.
For some reason, when I plug in my usb hard drive, the problem goes away and is replaced by a new one . no more glitches and pops, no more errors on the rme settings window, but now the audio is kind of garbled or...
Hello,
I just emailed rme tech support, but while I'm waiting for a response I thought I'd try posting here.
I just bought a new laptop and I'm having problems with my fireface800 (I think I've narrowed it down to a hardware issue) even at very high buffer sizes. Dropouts and glitches are...

constructive criticism is welcome.
Thanks!
Thanks, I might just be hearing things that aren't there at this point. I think I'll take a few days off and come back with fresh ears.
U87 through a focusrite octopre, the reverb is a lexicon pantheon plug-in.
Sure, sorry about that.
If you have time to listen to all of them I would appreciate it. These are samples from a full length album.
The one I think I'm most concerned with is Robbie. The vocals seem a little harsh in the high end or something, or maybe I'm hearing things.
Also, on my home...
These are some friends of mine that I recorded:

The vocals sound very harsh to me. Any ideas on how to tone it down?
Any other suggestions on the overall mix are welcome.
Thanks!
OK, I guess there's a little confusion as to my situation. Sorry about that. These guys need something to take on the road with them this month for promotional purposes. I plan on giving them both a mastered cd and an unmastered cd. I am definitely trying to persuade them to send it out to a...
I had actually suggested that they look into sending it to a mastering studio and they asked if I could do it. I don't think they knew what mastering was until I mentioned it.
I told them I could at least run some compression and maybe some eq on it. The mix already sounds good by the way...
So I just finished mixing this album and my clients have asked if I could master it for them. I really don't know anything about mastering so I could use some help. I know its dprobably difficult without hearing the mixes, but are there any general guidelines, procedures, rules of thumb that...
Thanks for your advice everyone.
I'm definitely running more than just a "demo" studio at this point. I have a fairly impressive gear list for a home studio, plus I have about four years of exprerience working in pro studios. I'm charging $20/ hour right now basically because that's about...
