The CDW512S will run direct with the 788. It's one of the three compatible TEAC drives. To run it you need an external case to put it in (if you haven't already got one), a power cable, the right SCSI lead, and probably a SCSI terminator. You should be able to get all these dirt cheap on Ebay.

No problem. All that stuff I wrote was about using a SCSI CD burner and the SCSI output on the 788. As you've seen, the stereo outputs can be used with any suitable device.
