So, anyone used MOTU 24i/o yet??

thanks guys.. good to hear that none really dislikes the conversion of the MOTU products, I guess they have to justify the higher price tags as well :) I am running the 98 SE as well, and was thinking that I'd have to upgrade my OS when I get the 24 i/o, but it's excellent that you guys are...

    too close?

hi lookingforcool, how are your tracks "effects wise"? Do they sound dry? Just thinking...if you say everything sounds "too close" try pushing it back with a bit of reverb on the instruments that sound "too close"...or a bit of reverb over the whole mix, so you get the impression that the tune...

So, anyone used MOTU 24i/o yet??

thanks Keith, I don't think we are talking the same unit here though...when you say old, how old? The MOTU 24i/o came out just as few months ago I think... Or is there a prior version to that that I'm not aware of? cheers

    cylindrical bass absorbers!!??

I've got some hard cardboard cylinders (tubes) and I was wandering if I could make some bass traps out of them. I was gonna stick some insulation on the inside of the cylinders and on the outside as well. Close the tops off and seal them so the cylinders are air tight. Then finally, wrap the...

So, anyone used MOTU 24i/o yet??

Thanks Jeyan, Good to hear that you're satisfied with the MOTU product...24 i/o is actually a core system ,not an expansion (but I guess it can be used as that), and it comes with PCI card, so it's really good to have the 24 ins/outs with the card and everything... I'm seriously considering this...

So, anyone used MOTU 24i/o yet??

...and how much does it go for at the moment? How is the conversion on MOTUs? If anyone's using the 24i/o, what sort of front end do you use with it? (mics, preamps...) I'd like to know if the MOTU converters would do justice to higher level of front end gear. I know some other converters...

yeah, I found that deal at a store that hasn't got an "online store" that's why I didn't bother answering where it was, coz alfaalfa asked for online stores, which is fair enough :) ,.... the $549 price was at Billy Hydes in Melbourne....
