    eliminating fretscrape

What do you guys think of using a light application of the Hemp Oil from The Body Shop on your fingers? I read that one among some bass player tips once.

CD Architect - Is this possible?

Here's what I did Just in case any of you need to do this in the future, here's the easiest way I've found to combine two or more CDP files into one. Re-save each CDP file as a wave image. You end up with a wav file that has all the edits, fades, etc applied. Use the new wav files to create...

CD Architect - Is this possible?

Is there a way to create one CD from two CDP files? I have a client who wants me to combine CDs. I'm hoping to save time as the CDP files (with track ID and fades) are available.

    Akg C1000e

I hadn't thought about the S standing for switch. If there is a version without the switch that would make sense. Then again it could be "shrill" and "sometimes", too. LOL. Of course the original question was about the "e".

How to rid my tracks of ess

Finding the right mic for the vocalist is the first thing to try. Another suggestion would be to have the vocalist sing off axis a bit or farther away from the mic.

I don't know what the "e" stands for. Design version, maybe? I was under the assumption that the "S" stood for silver as I believe they were black originally.

    File Systems

Twist, Stick with NT if it works for you. There are some audio applications that were written specifially for NT (I don't know which you are using). If you are running an NT/98 dual boot and want to share files between platforms, you will want to stay way from NTFS as 98 can't see NTFS. If...

My mix down sounds great in my near fields but sound like junk in my home stereo WHY?

Zad, Have you listened to your mixes on other systems besides your home set-up? Does it sound that way in your car. for instance? It sounds to me like your monitors are lacking bass so you're over compensating. What monitors are you using?

How many ladies vs. how many men are posting in the "Computer Recording" Forum???

One other thing I want to add is that regardless of the interest level, just by working in a male dominated profession, we are teaching our kids, boys and girls, that women can in fact do what ever they choose. The more it is seen, the more it is just excepted and it becomes a non-issue. When...

How many ladies vs. how many men are posting in the "Computer Recording" Forum???

Hmmm. I just don't see it that way. I wonder just what the interest level in recording is among girls. What I can tell you is that my two girls are in and out of my studio all the time. The 6 year old is too young to show an interest in anything. The 13 year old I've tried to get interested...

How many ladies vs. how many men are posting in the "Computer Recording" Forum???

barefoot, I think its more that the recording profession is male dominated. Even the Women in Audio sights don't get a lot of traffic. You'll find many more women posting on the MusicPlayers forums. Angie

    What software are YOU using?

It is an audio only program. If you do a lot of midi you may want to stick with Sonar. If not, many SAW users use a basic sequencer program like WinJammer with a linker utility. Others have a seperate midi only computer. It really depends on your needs. I use Audio Compositor to render midi...

    What software are YOU using?

SAW Studio is probably more flexible than Pro Tools. Like Sonar, it does not require proprietary hardward,at present anyway. It offers many more tracks than Pro Tools LE with the ability to use Direct X, VST and SAW native plugins. The console has a real world feel. You can even route the...

Any good chorus or flange plugins?

DSP/FX (www.dspfx.com) used to have a nice Chorus plug. They have a Flange too, but I rarely used it, so I couldn't tell you how good it is. I haven't used their stuff in years. The software reactivation crap got to me, so I dropped it.
