Hmmmm....I never thought about that. It's so crazy, it just might work! I'll see what happens. Thanks.

Record Audio CD Song take out guitar

There are pluggins you can get that will remove vocals most of the time, but I don't think you'll be able to remove much else. I think these work by removing whatever is panned to the center, like vocals. Any sounds that are located elsewhere in the stereo field is left alone. You would need the...

    D4 Names in Cakewalk

Here's my situation: I have created a new kit for an Alesis D4 drum module using a specially designed patch editor/librarian (D4Man). Anyway, I keep this kit stored in the librarian on the computer until which time I need to load it into the D4 to use on a particular sequnce in Cakewalk PA9...

    USB MIDI interface

Does anybody have experience using the S-MPU-64 USB Midi interface? Any good? Do you have to have the computer on to use it or can you use it when the computer is off? MidiMan has a similar one coming out this month that looks to be a bit cheaper. Any thoughts? Thanks.

    Cant Get Levels

Any line level signal should be connected to the line-in input on the sound card. Don't use the mic-in. If you have an S/PDIF out from your mixer, then use the digital-in on the card for better sound quality. That should do it. Be sure to turn on the appropriate channel on both the play & record...

how do i save tracksmade with drum sessions with my audio project

Do you mean you created a drum track using the session drummer plug-in? If so, that was a MIDI track. When you mix down to MP3 in CW, it only takes the AUDIO tracks. You would need to record the MIDI drum track as a stereo AUDIO track and then mix down. OR you could mix down the audio and MIDI...

    Studio Software?

Does anybody out there know any place on the web offering sharware that allows home studio owners to make things like track sheets, mixer setup recall sheets, outboard gear recall sheets, client invoices, etc. I could really use something like that. Any ideas? Thanks.

    AT3525 versus AT4033

Cool. Thanks for the review, G3BigRockAction. I do like it so far and I plan to do some serious recording with it very soon with a vocalist (I can't sing either!). I guess, ultimately, that my ears will be the final judge. Good to know I'm not alone in my choice of gear!

    AT3525 versus AT4033

The Tube MP is definitely not a piece of crap. I've used it on stuff with just an SM57 and it does do what it claims to do, which is give you tube sound in a small, inexpensive package. I'm sure somebody who only records in a "real" studio would pooh-pooh just about anything we "Home-y's" would...

    AT3525 versus AT4033

Hey gang, I just got an AT3525 as my first condensor mic to be used mostly for vocals and acoustic guitar, etc. I got it because I heard good things about it and wanted to try it out. I use it in conjunction with an ART Tube MP and I like the sound of it pretty well so far. I could exchange it...

    Help, I'm a Midiot

It sounds to me like your computer doesn't know to send the MIDI back out to the module while recording. It's possible that your sound card's mixer has something muted or Cubase has an echo setting that's turned off. I don't know...it just sounds like something is set wrong because that...

    Fatal Flaw

Jeez! I'm flabbergasted. I had no idea you folks would dig this that much. It was mainly just an experiment to try out recording some audio. I mostly do MIDI with only minimal audio tracks, although I'm definitely moving toward doing much more audio. I basically owe the whole thing, techwise, to...

    Fatal Flaw

Wow, thanks very much! I am using Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 as my multitrack software. My studio consists of a spare bedroom for the control room and another smaller room (roughly 6' x 9') as the "live" room. In there the drums (an old '60s Ludwig jazz kit) were done using just a pair of EV 408's as...

    Fatal Flaw

Hey folks, check out my first all-audio creation (except the midi organ) using CWPA 9. It's called "Fatal Flaw." I put this together with a couple friends for fun. Any comments? Be kind. We plan to do more. I'll periodically put up some samples when they are ready. Thanks...

    Pre/Post Fader

Basically, "Pre" means that the effect is fed BEFORE the fader so any amplitude change of the dry signal will not change the wet sound. Therefore, "Post" puts the bus AFTER the fader and any level changes will affect both the dry and wet signals. Most of the time, the post setting is used...

    Can I rename .WAV files??

I'm not positive how to do this, actually. Anybody got a step-by-step? I don't want to screw anything up that's valuable. Thanks.

    Can I rename .WAV files??

The main reason I ask is because I backup my .WAV files to CD-R and then keep a log of what everything is and what project it goes to. It would be much easier to type in "acoustic guitar rhythm" than "CVlw7sx.WAV". See what I mean?
