I heard about it while reading the Cakewalk Sonar Forum. There was a discussion about mastering going on and a few people mentioned the AAMS software, to master your audio tracks on your computer. It was said it was the best mastering software out there. So I looked into it and really liked the...

I was looking at Ozone 7 by iZotope, but that was $200 on sale, $250 regular price. I didn't want to spend that much, and this was an option at $75 bucks.

    Automatic Audio Mastering Systems...

No it's not Spam. I never heard of this software until last night...I never heard of anything like it. But I really like the concept of not having to send a sound file out to be mastered. So this is one alternative. I'm very curious about it. I tried a couple of my sound tests and they came back...

Well the AAMS software Pro Version, has 200 different algorithms to choose from. So you can pick different styles of processing for your specific song. It's not a one size fits all type of deal. You can also create your own algorithms and save your sound for other recordings. It's interesting...

Sorry but the Sound Click site is all I have right now. I refuse to use Sound Cloud because they jam other people's songs in right after yours and I find that to be very annoying.

Whats a great DAW software for recording?

I use Sonar Platinum and Adobe Audition CS6. Both have features that the other one doesn't, so having both gives me lots of audio tools to work with. I know both are a bit pricey, but the bang for the buck is very good for what you get. I love having these tools on my computer. They both have...

    best monitors for £400

I heard a recording today that was made a few years ago. It was just a commercial for soap. The audio sounded horrible, the audio was bouncing around a kitchen and you could hear the echoes of the room. Then they panned to a newer recording and the same room must have been treated because the...

The Journey of the Engineer. I want to hear YOUR story.

My story started when I bought my first 5" reel to reel recorder. We used to record tv shows and edit in funny lines just to have a blast. I then moved up to a Teac 2340 four tack recorder, to record songs and live bands who were friends of mine. Eventually I moved up to a Tascam DA-88, and now...

What's the proper DAW most like Audacity (ie: easy to use)

I use both Sonar Platinum and Adobe's Audition CS6. They both had learning curves but are fairly easy to operate now. Both have things that the other doesn't. Sonar records midi, Audition doesn't, Audition has a Phase Meter and correction tools, Sonar doesn't. So don't be surprised if you end up...

    best monitors for £400

I bought my Yamaha HS8 monitors used off of eBay for $450. Including shipping. Seller says they are like new. If you buy them new, these monitors cost $349 each plus tax and shipping. So I'm saving about $350 bucks by buying used.

    What next?

On You Tube, there are video demoes of the Yamaha HS8's vrs the JBL 308's and the Rockits. In the demo I saw, the Rockits sounded muffled in comparison to the JBL's and Yamahas. The Yamaha's sounded crisp and clean to me. The JBL 308's also sounded good. So for me it was a contest between the...

    What next?

Ya monitors. Something that is dedicated studio monitors that will give you a good reference to work from. NOT HOME SPEAKERS. I tried that and my mixes were off when I tried them out on other speaker systems. I fought it for years but I finally broke down and ordered a set of Yamaha HS8's. I got...
