I think it sounds like he wants to record the backing track, and 16 vocal vox tracks. If you're wanting to record all 16 at once, you're gonna need a 16 channel interface. You can get the backing track into your project before hand, dont record that along with the singers. A 16 channel...
Yeah I did.. I got some side-income to keep me afloat for a while, and I got some great leads on some new jobs. Could be a blessing in disguise - It's looking likely that I'll end up with an even better job.
That will act as a giant absorption panel, but that's just treating acoustics. That's what I did in my last house and it worked great! But it is NOT soundproofing. It offers pretty much NO additional isolation. "Soundproofing" and "sound absorption" are 2 VERY different things, roxul is made...
The drums are distant, they soudn like they're pushed way far back, mic'ed from kinda far away or something. Everything else sounds like it's right there, nice and bright. The vox mix sound great, nice job singing and mixing them!
I have nothing to add, I'm just putting this post here so I get subscribed to the thread. Since I sux at drum programming... Definitely the weakest link in my stuff,
They do it with clothes all the time, fair's fair!
"Umm.. this C414? Yeah, I found it in the closet under that 'old' purse of yours, musta been there for at least a year.."
Play along and you can get yours too!
DB, it's NEVER done is it??
I just finished another superchunk - slow progress lately but at least its something.. It's a 12x12 right triangle with a 17" face, 4 feet long. I stuffed it with about 7' of roxul so it's density is probably around 4 lb/cf. Made with scraps from arcadeko's and...
Thanks guys! Yeah I can get the connector cheap enough, the pre-made cables go for as much as $70...... I noticed that the little dent in the connector, (where it's keyed so the cable can only be put in one way) it's ON one of the pins. The connectors I see have this little key BETWEEN 2...
What kind of cable is this? Is there a converter that turns it into a normal xlr so I can plug it into my interface? Its from the 70's, I think I got a good deal on it. Anyone ever see one of these?
You can go as simple or as complex as you want. Your 2 main factors will be your budget, and how good a recording you want.
easy - Boombox / recorder in the middle of the room, simplist and cheapest you can do. You'll need a lot of trial and error to figure out where the best placement is...
Thanks DB!
Umm yeah, I DO have a lava lamp, 2 of em actually! A reddish / magenta one goes between my computer screens, it's there now. I'll need an updated pic. I have a blue one that is not out yet, it'll end up over in guitar world somewhere I think. I did some other lights and noticed...
I went ahead and got it, I like it a lot! It plays a lot better than an epi LP I had a couple years back. I got a good deal on it, and I always wanted a cherry finish SG! I jammed around on it last nite til my fingers were sore :D
