Question for you logic gurus out there

not read through... in a hurry.... but... in arrange window highlight all the audio segments in the track by dragging a box through them (dont click on any of these segments incase you re-overlap or accidently drag them). Then (I think from memory) in the menu go, Audio > Audio Mixdown and...

    Live band drum mic'ing

Hi, I agree... but this is for live gigs on stage and in pubs, hence the lack of control on the environment the gear is set up in and the problem of bleed. Going to try the above suggestion next week. Cheers

    Live band drum mic'ing

Hello, I have my drum overheads (pencil condensers) straight down, at the extreme edges above the kit, about 8ft up (ish), howver this is in the studio where drums are played with no bleed noise. I've been asked to record a band live... I fear this method will havee too much bleed. What is the...

    NT1-a OH's??

The Rode Nt5 pair is ideal for drum overheads, and great for acustic guitar. You've probably have good results with vocals to howver the the Nt1a is fantastic for that. I have been using very cheap yet very good mics from Red5 Audio: http://www.red5audio.com/acatalog/Drum_Kit_Mics.html the...

any bargain solution for 8track recording

simple solution As previously mentioned - Get a Presonus FP10 (previous named Firepod). I have one and am going to get another to "daisy chain" so I can have 16 simultaneous tracks recording at once. The pre amps are spot on too. No competition, even at 4 times the price

    Will my Laptop cope?

thanks! Yes, quite, I will try it! I didn't want to set it all up for the band at their gig, later to tell them it didn't work! ha! The old Sony Vaio has 16 gig left to play with so I should be ok to record an entire gig. The hard drive was removed and replaced with one from a much newer...

    Will my Laptop cope?

Hello I use a Presonus Firepod at home. I have been asked to record a gig, so will require the portability of my laptop. It is however, somewhat old! Its a 700Mhz PII, with only 128Mb of RAM. Logic 5.5 seems to run ok, but will it manage to record 8 mics for an hour non stop? Also, how much...

BBC played my track without asking

I agree, I've a friend how is a lawyer so I'm going to get him involved, he'll find it a fun challenge! - I've emailed the show, and the BBC, asking where they got the track and whether they were aware that I was not informed of its use etc... I'll keep you posted with their response - Its Bank...

    My tunes! Comments/advice please!

cool, most of it is live! I love the live sound rather than highly produced stuff. Reef's first albumn for example, is basic sounding, but captures all the raw live energy through mics pointed at instruments with little further processing - thats my style! Thanks for the feedback - sign up to...

So I tuned into the The Friday Night Gerbil on BBC Radio Shropshire to listen to a great live band called Grandeur Rat. A few minutes into the show I hear my music, the entire outro section of our tune "Pathetic", listen here: http://www.glow-music.co.uk/2.mp3 They use the whole length of it...

    My tunes! Comments/advice please!

hey thanks man! The drums are V-Drums played into the exs24 in logic. Ha, your right about the guitar dominating, most of the stuff I didn't vary the volume throughout the track, as its all rough. Stoked you found it entertaining!
