    How to devide 11m x 5.7m space

I guess: in a square or rectangle, sound waves can bounce back and forth, standing waves can occur, the room will respond particularly to certain frequencies dependant on its length and width. But with irregular angled walls, reflections can dissipate. Like the stealth fighter plane is funny...

    How to devide 11m x 5.7m space

cheers guys, many thanks, Not much money in it? depends how much is expected from it I suppose. Theres a local studio near me, its tiny, and sounds terrible - they run a G4 with Logic, 2 firepods and a vintage old desk as preamps, and thats it. They charge £100 per day, and with little...

    How to devide 11m x 5.7m space

Hello everyone, I have a detached single garage next to my house (In the UK), and some land next to it where I could extend the garage to make a 11 metre by 5.7 metre building (externally). I record all sorts of genres but generally rock bands so would like: 1) A Control room 2) A Live room...

Live recording - Pop Rock band

Hello, I recorded a long rehearsal session with a friends band "Wilcox". The flash player is here: www.edbol.co.uk/wilcox I used Red5 Audio drum mics, with the kick mic close to the beater (inside) at 30 degrees(ish) just below point of impact - Rode NT1A just outside the hole of the kick...

    Firepod owners discussion thread!

so its quite possible that I've spent hendreds of pounds on hardware, followed the manufacturers firmware update instructions, and F*@K%D them up... and the only way to sort it is to send the units from the UK to the USA to get them fixed, which will cost a f%$£@£g s%&t load. Good work presonus.

    Firepod owners discussion thread!

Hi Well.... I've lost all MIDI on my Firepod - I think I've got the latest firmware installed (The updater crashes all the time) - Audio recording is fine, but there is no MIDI signal going in. There is 1 other user with the same problem Presonus have not replied

Too much for the laptop or is it Reaper

I've been struggling with Reaper, and now I've given up and reverted back to logic. However I've lost all MIDI on my Firepods after I reset my PC and reistalled everything. I initially blamed the latest Firepod firmware - the updater just crashes all the time. But after reading this Thread I'm...

CPU usage - more than other DAWs?

well I ReaMote'd the old laptop to the 1.7ghz 2gb pc and it worked for a bit, then lots of glitchy spluttering.. and the CPU was peaking around 55% (on the laptop) something aint right, I tell you!

CPU usage - more than other DAWs?

I've played with settings all afternoon, with little to no performance increase. I think the only thing to do appart from getting a new computer, is to use an old machine and ReaMote the FX. Will a Slave PC running ReaMote be as significantly demanding on its CPU as the Master (running Reaper)...

CPU usage - more than other DAWs?

Hey Pipe, The only thing I can change with the configuration of the firepods is the Latency and sample rate; which was the same with Logic. So I presume its settings within Reaper?

CPU usage - more than other DAWs?

Pipe, Thats what I thought. I'm running 2 Presonus Firepods. What settings do I need to be looking at? I'm using a 1.7ghz PC with 2Gb RAM, which has been fine with logic. Cheers

CPU usage - more than other DAWs?

I use(d) Logic 5, and it never slowed even with a shed load of FX on lots of tracks. Reaper on the other hand seems to suffer??

    REAPER V's LOGIC

ok.... I've been playing with it a bit and.... well.... I think the ReaFIR is great, in principle, but it total thrashes the CPU - I put it through 16 tracks and the whole system went into slowmo... not good but... Reaper... yeah, I'm totally sold... bye bye Logic

    REAPER V's LOGIC

Logic is excellent, no it does not "suck", if it did, hundreds of the music industry's best and busiest composers/producers/engineers would not use it, as they do now. As Reaper is now, a modern composer will go for Logic and not even give Reaper the time of day... as for an audio...

    REAPER V's LOGIC

ok....... fight! I record bands, and do very little MIDI.... So I'm thinking of switching to Reaper, because its quick and stable, and Logic Platinum (as I run a PC) can crash from time to time. I will desperately miss Logic's "Fat EQ" and its delays, but I'm sure there must be some equivalent...

    Reaper 16 tracks at once?

Hello, I want to record 16 tracks at once with 2 Presonus Firepods. Will Reaper do this? I doing it well with Logic 5 (which is great) but it is a bit unstable. Also I'd ideally run it on a old Sony Vaio 700Mhz laptop with an external usb hard drive. The Firepods won't work with the laptops...

Bass tone???? Deep but defined not too trebly

well... I play bass in a band... I have given up on bass amps and use a straight PA amp to power my 2, 1x15 cabs. I use a compressor limiter pedal, overdrive pedal; and a 8 bands eq unit that sits on the amp and rolls off the lows so I don't blow my speakers out. The sound and tone is therefore...

ah but when the forum grinds to a complete stop just as you post a thread, ones natural response is to go back and try again, only to find you have now posted it twice... I'm a newbie at this kind of retaliation wit, so please appreciate it as it is meant.
