I've messed around with the V-Twin some, but I ended up buying a Boogie amp instead(Nomad 2x12 45 watt.)It works well but it has a tendancy to make anything you plug it into sound like a Boogie, which of course to some could only be a good thing...
I have a Studio Vocalist, and I almost always use "Vocoder" mode where you trigger the harmonies by sending the machine Midi Note Messages. This way the machine has to play only the notes I send it.So if you're machine has a similar mode, try it out.You can do it from either a keyboard in real...
I have a 1010,but mine's never weirded out on me.There's a button press sequence to reinitialize it though,which I forgot. Try : http://www.rolandus.com
The closer you get to that $200 mark as your low point, the more you see cut corners on things like hardware and fret dressing. These can turn into extra expenses later on if you keep the thing a long time.To be specific,I knoew a young man who bought an Epiphone Les Paul a year ago,the knobs on...
To answer your question,Bruce, when I first posted I had just found out about the machine and it's price. The next day I found out that my local store had one,so I decided to bring it home. They're cool with the possibilty that I may or may not keep it.
I spent a half hour with it on Sat. with both guitar and bass.I changed some of the patches EQ and cut the distortion for the bass and I got good sounds with it for both instruments.I agree that it represents good value for the price, and I'll probably get one soon.
That new Digitech RP200 is pretty cool if you don't need Midi control. It's got an expression pedal built in and the case is made of metal.Pretty decent FX,too.
I was looking at the MPX500 and noticed that there are only 30 slots for user programs, that seems too little given what the machine is capable of doing...BTW I've been playing around with the Behringer for a couple of days now here at home, and for the amount of 'verb that I usually use, which is...
If you have the patience, you can accomplish what amounts to the same thing by using Automix, which does work while the song is playing. You can also change FX by sending them Midi Program Change messages and Continuous Controller messages.
v.2.011
I think you're referring to v.2.011,which essentially exists solely to correct the omission on the VS880EX of a "DC Cut" switch on the System menu.DC cut applies a sloping cut starting at approx.100hz and increasing as the frequency gets lower. It's there for those times when you're...
Yeah,Larry's referring to a small group of patches in the 880EX v.2.0+ collectively known as "Mastering Tool Kit." I've often wondered why Roland hasn't made these available as a stand alone box like some of their reverbs etc. for folks like you. But,with the passage of time the 880EX's are...
If all you want to do is record audio, any CD burner that has S/PDIF inputs can be connected to the S/PDIF outputs of the VS and it will faithfully burn a CD of what's coming out of the VS.Where the problem lies is once your hard drive on the VS is full, you can't use this same burner to back up...
I've had good luck even with samplesd horns by using volume and expression pedals to get swells and sforzando effects.Brass instruments get brighter the louder the player blows,so sometimes even riding the EQ during playback can get you closer.
Perhaps others here will agree when I say that what a lot of us are expressing is not disdain for Gibson but a certain chagrin at the sad state of affairs now compared to what was and could perhaps again be a truly magical name among musical instrument brands. There are many Gibsons out there...
As much as I dislike everything else they make,I've come to really like the Lace Sensor Golds, the original ones, not those noise cancelling ones. They have a bell like clarity to them that really works for clean Strat tones.
