    Kick bleed

I put my mic in about eight to ten inches from the beater head I then some of the time put a second mic right where the back head would be, I also put a blanket over the whole back of the bass drum to keep out the cymble noise. And one other thing I do for some of the bands that record at my...

    Bass amp micing

I have had good luck with my ATM 25 on the bass amp I also a lot of the time use the EV N/D 868 and I always use a DI using up two channels but I love the combo of both mic and DI.

Best dynamic mic for micing guitar amps.

I agree with trackrat but the question was the best mic for the money. The SM57 can be used on many things so for the money It probably is the best bet.

    snare tips

But gateing is done a lot more then most people realize. depending on the project. there are many times that I like the sound of the overheads and room mics for the decay of the toms and snare but I want just hit of the toms and snare. Not everyone has a perfect room with perfect acoustics and...

    "Because" harmony vox

I work at Orchestra Hall in Mpls Mn. I have heard as much classical music as I have rock music. Beethoven could create small very personal pieces (Fur Elise) as an example and Big Glorious pieces like the 9th symphony. Mozart liked mostly the huge orchestral arangements and most of his work was...

Pet sounds is the only recording from the beachboys worth hearing If you want good surf music listen to Dick Dale or the Ventures. I think the monkeys was a fun show with fun music, but in no way on par with the Beatles or the stones.

Problems recording vocals with the SP C1 Mic.

He may not have another room to use. I have a C1 also and it usually sounds good for most vocals I have used it for, but the room I use is set up with good acoustics. The PVC idea is a good one but more expensive then wood but more light weight and would look nicer. try the tent option first if...

Problems recording vocals with the SP C1 Mic.

To hang the blankets would be differant depending on your room. cieling wood/ sheetrock/plaster etc. you could build two holders out of wood 2x4s making a perfect square out of four of them with two small 2x4s as feet braces 2x4s are about $2 a piece, then drap the blanket over them. thats just...

Problems recording vocals with the SP C1 Mic.

Size of room will change things also what the wall are made of. is there a lot of metel objects near such as cymbles mic stands etc if any of what I said is a problem, a cheap way to deal with it is hang a blanket on each side of the person you are recording only if you dont have a booth with...

as far as I know Phasing usually ocures when there is two or more mics set up at the same time. at least in my experiance with it. having mics to close together and or facing each other tends to create phase problems.
