    Our first little album

Thanks for the tips! The drum solo was impromptu, but we had watched a Led Zeppelin DVD the night before of the drummer doing that awesome solo. Obviously not of the same caliber, but we left it in the recording because it offered some really stupid/funny contrast.

    Our first little album

madmush, thanks for listening and critiquing the songs. I wholeheartedly admit that I've got very little knowledge of recording and mixing. Frankly, I don't think I've got the patience or technical know-how to learn the finer points of it all. :/ But I try to pick up a couple tips here and...

    Our first little album

Our first EP album Hey folks, it's been awhile since I've posted... I'd love to hear your reviews of my songs at http://www.tzerptheb.com. The album consists of 4 originals and 4 covers (Elliott Smith to be exact--skip 'em if you don't care for covers). They're pretty basic stuff, nothing...

    distance in between strings

thanks for the link, asulger. here's how the tusq 12-string nut measures up: . the string pairs and sets are almost perfectly equidistant from each other. i'm pretty surprised how bad mine turned out. is it safe to assume that it didn't come like this from the manufacturer? from what i...

    distance in between strings

hey onlyfingers, i understand what you're saying about distance between a pair of strings, but i'm concerned about the distance between pairs or sets. for example, if you take a look between the G and D strings (right down the middle) and A and E strings (1st and 2nd from right) in you may...

    distance in between strings

i just got my 12-string yesterday (guild/madeira) and noticed that the distances between the sets of strings are off. since i've never owned one before, i'm not sure if this is how it's supposed to be or not. this next image shows measurements i made in pixels (just for reference). the...

    madeira (guild)

nope, that's not my post but that might be a good place to ask about this since fender owns guild. thanks!

    madeira (guild)

hmm, nobody has experience with the madeira?

    madeira (guild)

hey, does anyone know about these guitars? i've looked on the web and the information is pretty sparse. - built in the late 60's, 70's - built in japan, and later korea - distributed by guild (i read about a guy who contacted guild and they said they have no records of the madeira because of...

    string/fretboard cleaners

mr moon, thanks--this was what i was looking for. heh, didn't know that it's been around for so long. i figured ghs was reputable, but since i've never used any such products on my guitar i was a little hesitant. guitarfreak12, thanks for the detailed tip. always learning something new...

hehe, sounds like a really, really angry cookie monster. :D man, sounds great to me!

    string/fretboard cleaners

oops, i was mistaken. according to ghs' website it's a "String and Neck Lubricant / String Cleaner" not a fretboard cleaner. they also say to "Use it on strings, fretboard, back of neck. Lets fingers slide freely, keeps strings clean, is good for wood." good for wood? or that it just doesn't...

    string/fretboard cleaners

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=guitar/s=accessories/search/detail/base_pid/420451/ i have a couple friends who have tried the ghs fast-fret string cleaner who say it's a great product. does anyone else use this (or other string/fretboard cleaners)? is it just a gimmick or do these...

    Great rock mix, vox??

hey ecktronic, sounds like the beginning vocals are a little off-pitch and unsure, sorta like the singer's not quite comfortable inbetween the soft-spoken parts and the forceful vox later in the song. but it really starts to match the music as the song progresses. a live performance AND band...

    Need some honest feedback

hehe, that's what i thought--the beginning guitars in "orbit" (which is the one i'd pick out of the 4) sort of reminded me of an inxs tune or something. :D i don't feel the vocals in "neonlies" do your musical skills justice... not that they're not good, but the music really soars above them...

    replacing tubepre tube

first time replacing the tube inside my tubepre and the manual says i should get the "12ax7" tube. when i searched at musiciansfriend.com i found some that were 12ax7a and 12ax7c. how are these different from 12ax7 and can i use them as replacement tubes?

Does my voice have potential to develop into something more?

i don't hear the nervousness, but rather a nasal sound that seems to be occuring because of your cold. :) let's hear this again when you're healthy!
