that is a classic home recording trick. i've never liked it too much. i prefer two seperate takes for doubling vocals. if you delay it 1600 samples i think you would have some pretty noticable phase problems. just switching the polarity might not help you much. i guess try it and see what...
the cheapest presonus toob pre (lik $90, single channel, 1/3 rack space) makes a surprisingly good bass DI. i use a pink hondo bass with a neck a pickup from a broken p-bass (i think the pink adds a lot of good sound to the bass), anyway, even this piece of trash sounds pretty cool through the...
i've used my 40 watt hotrod deluxe at decent sized venues, and it rocks plenty of volume.
i went to GC today to check out some amps and compare the twin reverb to the pro reverb (100 watts 2x 12 vs 50 watts 1x12). they didn't have any more pro reverbs, and the guy said the whole line was being...
i've got an RNP and used it for a while now. anything i've plug into it has sounded good. any source (i.e. guitars, vocals, drum overheads, electric guitars) have sounded good. great overall pre. now from what you've said you want i think the RNP is perfect, but i've never heard the grace...
60-watts of tube will usually be enough volume for almost an small venue. if you like the sound of the amp stick with it. it should be able to compete with the rest of teh band's equipment.
anyone use the fender pro reverb amp (1x12)? i like the deep body and the jenson speaker and the 1/4 power switch. i've only been able to play it in a shop with about three dozen other amps balsting metalica and led zeplin, so i don't have a real accurate picture of its sound.
can anyone explain the difference between the gibson sg special and the sg standard? is the cheaper one just a crappy knock off, or is it worth the money?
oh yeah, i just assumed this question was as dumb as most of his others. wait...now that i think about it - it is. yeah this can't be done without some sort of sound quality compromise.
i think it'll work. why not give it a try. you may have to get a new sound card though, which might not be a bad idea. a crappy sound card will create crappy recordings. there are quite a few decent cards for $100-$150 that will improve your audio quality immensly.
yeah, don't steal, but even if you do have enough brains to not admit it here. who knows maybe one of us works for the FBI in our real job! maybe i do! maybe you're busted!
PT free works ok, it's buggy. just search for demos of anything that has a master fader function. then just eq the...
i would vote for the m-audio's. i've listened to both, and i think the m-audio is a bit more on the clean and clear side. in other words, what you hear is what is really going on. except for the bass response, they haven't lead me astray yet. the tr5's are good too. i've heard them, but not...
monitors allow you to hear what you're really putting in. other speakers will have some sort of bias. i do all the major mixing and monitoring through the studio monitors, but i use the little pc speakers and my home system as reference mixes. to answer your question, you need a good pair of...
i guess this belongs in the rack since the room is an important piece of equipment.
i'm building a room on a pre-made foundation (15'x30'). i can do anything with the room except change the dimensions. does anyone have any links to sites, threads, or books that can lead me in the right...
