No. I think you can buy additional upgrade rom for it that will have new sounds, but your pretty much stuck with the preset sounds it comes with. No sampling capability.

Never used the MPC but I own an MP-7. It depends on if you want to sample or not. The MP-7 is a sound module, not a sampler like the MPC.

Its a pretty dope machine. I'm in the process of learning it now and its pretty simple. Its got the mo phatt sounds which are tight although some are chessy. The only thing it doesnt do is sample, thats why I'm trying to hook it up to run with my EPS 16+. Peace~ B

Check out.... Ensoniq EPS 16+ -16-bit -Great Filters and sequencer -Came in a keyboard and rack version. Plus you can get them way cheap on eBay Peace~ B

I think all the samples in FruityLoops are stereo unless you get them from an outside source. I havent been using FL much lately but I used to do exactly that; double up the hi-hats and pan one to the left and one to the right, gives it that bouncy back and forth feeling. Hope that helped...
