I had a Model 5 as my first 'real' mixer. It exhibited background noise I could not tolerate, and was replaced in short order with a M308B. I concur however that the construction of the Model 5 was really nice. Built like a tank.

+1 on what everyone else says. I work with vintage cars as well as vintage electronics. Rust in either situation is a red flag. Walk away from this one

Thanks Ghost. I have the manual for the main unit.....unfortunately there is a separate manual for the remote which is what I lack. None of the online manual sources I usually consult have it. Might have to wait for a flea bay copy if nothing else pans out. Thanks again

Hmmmmm. I like the Combined channels on the Rane, but........ its still 1/3 octave. I would prefer the broader brush of an octave eq. Ashly is very nice gear, and I have some good experience with their parametrics, but......not the type of control I seek. Sorry team....

Both Teacs are simul sync machines. The 3340 non S has a shuttle lever for selecting fast mode or standard play. The S version has the typical array or pushbuttons and no lever. Among other improvements onthe S version, the shuttle lever elimination made it more reliable.
