suppose you have ad convertors that maxes out at 48k sampling frequency... if you synced it with an external clock does the clock frequency change the sampling frequency of the convertors? if the word clock will do 96..?

your aardvark will only become worthless if you plan to upgrade to new hardware or o/s (ie: amd64 or windowx 64bit).... as long as it works fine on your current computer you're good to go.

Yeah, make sure you have Windows down to the BARE MINIMUM of processes (if you have anti-virus software and youre trying to record...), especially related to audio things. I always disable my onboard audio, usb, firewire, etc etc. (everything that is not essential that might get in the way)...
