Well the choice came down for my friend to being a peavey valve king stack ($900) and this one ($550)...although the peavey would have tubes, I read that solid states are actually really good sounding for metal and if I could save him money that would be ideal because his budget is max $1000...

Well it depends on what monitors you go with, because they have different outputs/inputs...but if you went with the krks go with something like this.. I just picked these up earlier cause my local store recommened them...but they are $45 each hah, but if you can afford that, you will never have...

Wellll, I looked it up and didnt see to many reviews on the profire, so Id say with go something you can at least find reviews on.. The firebox got a lot of pretty good reviews, I have the firestudio and im happy with it, so I dont see how a smaller version could horrible haha plus youll save...
