I'm a rapper and I used to always do that! I try hard not to since I saw a video of myself where in a part of a verse I cupped the mic and it sounded AWFUL!
The three hottest tips anyone can give rappers:
1. Learn good mic technique;
2. Get some singing lessons;
3. Buy a V67g.
FL can be used for multitracking, it's just not its strongest point.
I'll give reaper a go. Can it do rewire? If not I should be able to use FL as a VST plugin.
Thanks for your advice :D
Hi all,
I recently picked up a used SE2200a mic off eBay. In an A/B comparison with my SP C1, it was REALLY quiet, even with the gain maxed out.
I then noticed that if I flick the pad switch on the mic, nothing changes. It is the same level whether the switch is on or off. In comparison, there...
I've had a look at Reaper, I just wonder if a program that has an install file of under 5MB can be much better than FL Studio.
I didn't like the user interface in either. Ableton I find particuarly unintuitive. Cakewalk was better, but not as user friendly as I find Pro Tools or FL Studio.
Is...
Hi all,
I hope nobody has a problem with this. I thought I would start my own thread and post updates on my studio I am building. I have a premises so we are at phase one for now.
I will be moving gear into the shed gradually and will post updates as time goes on. The small room will be used...
Hi all,
It's been a LOOOONG time since I last posted here. I once had grand visions of running my own studio, however they were set aside to pursue a different career.
I'm looking at getting back into the groove again so I need some advice. I've had a bit of a search but my question is more...
I don't have a behringer pre. As for the presonus blutube, its great for now but I would never use it once I get my studio up and running.
As for the Presonus FP10, can the preamps be turned off? That's one of the things I love about the Delta 1010 series. No preamps and great A/D converters...
Lol, no worries :p
I haven't used more than one card but if you use the M-Audio ASIO driver there is a section that lists what cards you have in your system. Not being a user of Cubase either I can't really comment but I imagine there would be no problems.
I've used USB MIDI in the latency was...
All gravy mate, I'm running x64 Vista. Just to clarify here though, there is no "cure" for this because the RAM isn't really lost, there simply isn't enough address space for more than 4GB RAM.
2^32 = 4,294,967,296 = 4 GB
It's a limitation brought about by x86 hardware. To address 4GB memory...
I agree. You han have the best gear in the world but if you don't know how to drive it you can still produce rubbish recordings. I have spent a few years learning recording techniques and how to use various equipment from many eBooks. But if you knew my competition, seriously he has a bad rep...
I know what you mean. The Berry gear isn't on my wish list though, I just have it lying around from my humble beginnings.
In the town I'm from there's only one studio that operates as a business. He're's a link to his page http://www.grantluhrs.com.au/flying_fox.html
He makes a decent living...
I've done some research in room treatment and have a fair idea on how I'll do it. I'm expecting at least half of my budget to go toward room treatment and furniture.
Hey again guys!
After my last post I'm leaning toward keeping my PC as my DAW.
I'm planning to run a studio as a business and will most likely have a vast range of clients from acoustic duos, pop soloists, full bands of pretty much every genre, voice overs and ad jingles. I do have a budget...
