I previously thought that midi control surfaces (like the Behringer BCF2000) would only control midi instruments... I have been lusting after the Mackie MCU...but college keeps taking my money. I was looking into surfaces more and it turns out you can control the mixer in cubase, live, etc...

I'm surprised no one has jumped on this. If I hadn't just bought a new condenser mic I would be all over this. I've got one and would like to upgrade to 16 inputs, these interfaces are great!

The 2 wire SM57 I bought from someone at my school who didn't really know what they had...if It's even a real 57, either way, both of the mics are second (or third) hand.

They are both different. The labels are different (no raised R though), and the internals are different. One has three wires, the other has 2.

Um...I just wanted to see what people's opinions were about what went wrong with it. Some of you guys are pretty touchy about your cheap pre's... ...I think I'm just going to throw it and my interface away, just record straight into the motherboard sound card...solid state baby.

So, tonight I accidentally moved a 1/4" patch cable and all kinds of static occurred. After I played with the cable for a minute the static went away, is it okay for a cable to make this noise when moved since they stay stationary, or do they need to be static free? Also, what is the best way...

During a session tonight my presonus Tubepre started cutting out while tracking. Turning the knobs would get the signal back, but later it would drop again. I thought maybe they were dirty, but playing with them like crazy then trying to track again did not help. Is this what happens when my...

Well...I guess it's about time I post some pics of my stuff on here. When my power cord for the LCD monitor comes the CRT on top of the amp is going away and the mixer is going on top of the amp. I also don't have a lava lamp...bad, I know. Comments, concerns? Bring them on.
