Review this Song for my friends demo OR ELSE

OK, I listened. 1 - Don't try to stereo-ize the guitars... it makes it sound cheap and thin. Try to record the part twice and pan them to taste. 2 - There is no low-mid in the song at all. 3 - Vocals are buried... EQ and compress to taste to make them stick out a bit more. 4 - Maybe use some...

Another updated mix: Tweaked guitars a little bit... still debating if the volume is quite right... some spatial tweaks here and there... http://www.lightningmp3.com/live/file.php?fid=3442

Two New songs recorded by my band!

If you got separate tom tracks or room tracks, pan those and space it out a bit... you want to create some atmosphere without overpanning. The snare (if EQ'd and verb'd properly) will open up while sounding heavier... you can also add some slight verb to the kick, but watch your low frequencies...

"Operation Failure" First Pro Tools recording

Myspace in its essence is ok (I got an account too), but the player makes everything sound like ass.

Snare could benefit from compression and reverb, as well as vocals.

"Operation Failure" First Pro Tools recording

I hate the damn myspace player, but... You need to control the low end a bit with some subtractive EQ. Besides the obvious vocal level problem, there is just not a whole lot of shimmer/high-end in here at all... The drums sound OK until the fills, then the lack of compression and dynamics peaks...

    Most Recent Recording

Sounds good to me, all around. I would fatten up the snare personally... it starts sounding like a tin pan at times... almost like the attack was compressed right out of it and the only thing left is the tail-end of it. I also detect some timing issues between drums/guitars before 1:45, etc...

Guitars should come up, drum kit sounds mono - liven it up a bit with verb, etc... and pan if you can. Some parts could also benefit from some compression if you are serious about it. Vocals are alright, I wouldn't change anything drastically about them.

    Bellari tube (?) compressor

IIRC, the tube is not driven at full plate voltage, if thats what you are asking.
