I think the main problem is when you use the same mic for a lot of prominent things.... I.E. C1 for drum overhead, vox, AND all guitars.

Also keep in mind guys, that the songs we recorded over christmas (including this one) are in no way intended for release to anyone. We messed 'em all up real bad, so I'm not putting TOO much time into the mixing or anything.

thanks for the reply track rat. this is the response I seem to be getting overall: vox are getting lost, need more compression. guitar sounds good. Personally, I'm not entirely sure of the guitar sound. I think it mainly has to do with it being a bitch to get my amp to sound good at a decent...

By the way, Alan, is there any way I could get a cleaner picture of those VC6Q presets on the meek web page? They're all really fuzzy and I can't tell what the hell any of the knobs are at.

I always figured the headroom thing with 24-bit was not that you could record louder, but that you could record softer and there would still be less quantization noise than if you were at 16. For example, if you were recording at a certain level in 16-bit so that you didn't end up using the...

It's the mic we use live, and it works amazingly well. I feel it sounds a ton better than a 58, in fact, we even used it on a few songs we recorded. if anything, we've had less feedback problems with it cause it's hypercardoid.. just don't eq the highs up too much, cause it's a bit more crisp...

I actually like this song a lot without bass. Like "When Doves Cry"! :D

wait, if the nt3s are hypercardoid....... does that mean a pair of them with the sonusman (or was it mixerman?) drum technique won't get a good picture of the kit???? :(

hey alan, are you at liberty to talk about this thing? what's with no attack and release controls? does each preset vary in ratio as well as attack and release? what are the set values? do tell......
