Help, any input at all please

As always, I leave the in-depth tech critiques to those who know what their talking about. I like the song though. Nice feel, very heartfelt. I thought the vox might need to be set back just a hair into the mix but that may be just my preference. All in all, nice song. Would love to hear it with...

    80's rock/love ballad..kinda

This song really takes me to a place when I had hair...ah, the memories... Really catchy tune. I liked it from the opening, particularly the acoustic sound. I thought the electric needed to come up in places. Some of the lead parts seemed buried. I also thought the snare needed a little more...

    cover song (mixmkr)

Nice guitar work. I thought the song sounded a little thin at the very beginning but when it kicked in it didn't dissapoint. Nice job...

    Christle's Tune

I really like the way this song flows. I agree with others' about the levels. Seems to waver here and there. Nice git sound though.

    Blow Them Away

The best compliment I can give to this song is this: I listened to it exactly fifteen minutes ago and then went into the kitchen to make a sandwich. The ENTIRE time I was in there I sang it over and over in my best Randy Newman voice(which pathetically falls short of yours). Once it was in my...

    I am That Man

I really like this song, particularly the vocals. I also like the sound of the distorted guitar though I think it needs to be a little more in my face(though that may be just my preference)...

    Bedlam

Really good playing. Like the programming on the drums also.

guitar-player, not-a-clue wants to use PC for home recording

"...Yeah, get a soundblaster... if you like to waste your time and money on shit." Why spend $300 on a good soundcard if you're not even sure if digital recording is gonna work for you? That's like buying a Les Paul for a kid's first guitar lesson...

guitar-player, not-a-clue wants to use PC for home recording

I agree with NEB about the soundcard. If you're just starting out and simply want to test the waters of digital recording I would either go with the card you have(least favored option)or go out and pick up an inexpensive soundblaster card. At the very least you'll get a decent sound out of it...

OK - so I'm late - cover challenge

So...I smacked my Ovation and asked it why it didn't sound like that...to which it replied it had something to do with the new guy that just moved in, named al-varez. And then, I'm rambling... Outstanding guitar sound. I agree with Crawdad about boosting the vox just a hair. Otherwise, I think...

    My Revenge on Jamal

I like it, mouthwash effects and all. I listened to Jamal's version first for comparison. Cool tune, nice drive to it, first ten seconds made me think there was a Rush song I somehow have never heard. Moving on... Chris, nice rendition. Guitar sound really works for me.

Please, I beg you all ... Read, listen and comment :-) !!

I'm gonna leave the technical aspects and mixing criticism to those who actually know what they're talking about and just get right on with the song itself... Really good guitar work...LOVE those harmonies. And nice arrangment. Thought the drums were a little thin...just my preference though...

Thanks again Chris...I'll give that a try and see how it works out.

After all this time, I finally post a new one...

Love that guitar sound...Bass sounded good to me. I didn't like the drums much though, and that may just be a matter of personal taste more than sound. Maybe it's just me but I thought the snare was a little weak. Just my opinion, for what it's worth. BTW, the songs kicks ass. Tell them I'm...

    Newbie recording....suggestions welcome

Hi... Any criticism I may have is uneducated at best so whatever I say take with a grain of salt. I felt like the bass drum on both songs was way too much in my face. This is just my personal opinion and may well be just my puter speakers making me feel that way. Other than that I thought the...

Thanx Chris... I've tinkered with those drums for more hours than I care to mention but can't seem to get what I want, so my search continues. The song definately needs some meat in places...I don't own a bass or a bass player so my only recourse is to eq(or detune, god help me) one of the...

Hey Axe, most definately not "da Blues"...I need better solo skills for that. Too busy playing with rythyms to sit down and run some scales. BTW, Soundclick's basic services are free but they have some pretty good fee-based services for promotional purposes also. Haven't been there too long...

The drums came from a loop that I augmented here and there. Thanx for the input on the vox. I'll tap in a little delay and see if it sounds any better.
