Can anyone add drums to my track ?

Hi guys I have a track recorded - very much work in progress - that I'd like to add drums to. I've got an Ion electronic drum kit, but I can't play drums, so that was a crap investment. Anyway, it's a kind of rock / indie type track. It's only for fun, for me to play to my friends and say to...

    The gayest song...

That song with 'break my stride' in the lyrics is called 'Break My Stride' (!) by Mathew Wilder, and I agree, it's pretty annoying. Off the top of my head, I'll go for 'Wake Up Boo' by the Boo Radleys - mindless, middle of the road pap. But you're not getting away with nominating The Beatles -...

PG Music Band in a Box - or similar

Brilliant ! I'd appreciate hearing your opinion of version 6 - I think I'm definately going to go for that or BIAB, but my musical style leans more towards rock, so it sounds like Jammer Pro might be more appropriate for me.

PG Music Band in a Box - or similar

Thanks for your responses. I'm not midi savvy at all. I write songs on either guitar or piano, but I'm interested in getting a program to do some backing stuff with - drums, bass, maybe brass etc. I suppose mostly I want to have fun with it. Sajs - you own both BIAB and Jammer pro - which is...

PG Music Band in a Box - or similar

Hi Does anyone use this, or any similar product and could give me their experiences of it ? I have basic guitar and keyboard skills and these kind of products look like they could help me a lot with backing instruments for my recordings. Cheers

    Panning while recording

I've got a 1266 and I've done this. If I remember right you bounce the track onto another track while manually panning left and right - the recorded track keeps the panning.

    New Demo - Bittersweet

Hi Mark - you don't sing like a Brummy !! I wish I had your voice on my recordings. I'm not qualified to give opinions on the mix quality because I'm very new to this, but it's a cool song. Was expecting you to sing "When I find myself in times of trouble...." after the first few chords. Think...

First ever recording - I'd appreciate any comments

G'Day Monkey. Got the acoustic sound by pointing the mic at my acoustic !! I directed it about the 14th fret rather than the soundhole, which someone on here said to do. Hopefully took some of the boominess out of it. Yeah, my vocals are a bit dodgy - I've got a very limited range. I might get...

First ever recording - I'd appreciate any comments

Thanks for listening Chris. Yeah, the drums are just a drum track that is included with the Zoom - it's difficult to get any kind of realistic feel with them - I more or less used them as a timimng aid. I'll bear in mind your comments about the guitars and voice clashing a bit. But hey, if it...

First ever recording - I'd appreciate any comments

Hi everyone. I'm very new to this, and all I know about recording (pretty much bugger all) I've picked up from this site in the last month or so. I've written 3 or 4 songs in my life, and this is the first I've recorded. I use a newly bought Zoom MRS1266, an SM58, and er, that's it, apart from...

    Very limited mics

Hi My band has 1 x SP B1 and 2 x SM58's. What do you think would be the best configuration of these to record drums at home ? Thanks

    Groundbreaking productions

On the Sergeant Pepper album, on Being for the benefit of Mr Kite George Martin had Geoff Emerick cut up a tape of fairground sounds into one inch pieces, which got thrown into the air and stuck back together again at random, creating the swooping, swirling fairground noise in the background...

    Connecting BX5 monitors

I'm very new to home recording. I've just ordered some M-audio BX5 monitors on e-bay. I think that they accept both xlr and jack inputs. I'll need to buy leads for them, so my question is should I buy leads with xlr or jack input at the monitor end (from a sound quality point of view) or doesn't...

Insert and Send / Return effects

Can someone please explain the difference in simple terms (or in the terms of a simpleton) ? I've read descriptions of the terms but can't seem to get my head around it. What a git.

    Cubase MIDI Mixdown issue!

Someone will probably come on and shoot me down in flames, but in the absence of any other answers, try this. I'm sure this is what I did in Cubase a couple of years ago. You arm an audio track to record, play your recorded midi track while recording onto the audio track, and hey presto - it's...

    Further Studio Projects B1 query

Thanks for your help guys. I now understand that I need to buy a phantom power unit if I buy a condenser mic. I'm starting to learn ! A follow up question : I have a SM58 which I use live with my band. Would the B1 deliver much better results for recording vocals and acoustic guitar than the SM58 ?

48 v phantom power blah blah blah......

Hi everyone. I posted a question yesterday about the Studio Projects B1 mic, then realised the info I needed was already on the site. I'm a recording baby, so please bear with me. I have an Edirol UA 20 sound card. I called the store today to order a B1, and he asked me if the card is 48v...

    Studio Projects B1

Sorry forget this post - I should have researched on this site and seen what people have to say before posting. Think all the information I need is already here.
