plan to =) been finding some nice deals on craigslist
Just need to wait until I get paid in about a month =(.
Anyways, any cubase users on here?
I'm having trouble figuring out at what my signal is peaking at-
I bring up my mixer, and can see the bar moving up and down, and it's showing me a...
wow, I've been wanting to make a post like this for some advice on how to treat my room (as I have no clue where to start)
but I was just gonna draw a sketch in paint and maybe take some pictures.
Did you make that? Looks awesome.
sorry to double post, but I think I might have jumped the gun in my last post.
It's a legitimate question - and is in the right section.
Because of your other threads I just assumed that you were asking because you wanted to know what kind of songs to write.
Kratos, the more threads I read by you the more I think you need to step back from what you accomplish and just let the music flow.
It seems you want to conform to what is selling/popular and this is not what music is about!!!
Music is an art, and you need to be yourself. Who cares what people...
Kratos, I've read a few of your threads now - (even though I don't realize they're you until I look at the name... and then I'm not surprised)
And we're pretty much in the same boat.
Very new to home recording. (well, I've been recording for a while at home - just not trying to make anything...
sorry to double post
But I've been spending my day messing around with reverse reverbs - and god I love the sound! So creepy,
It has to be what I'm thinking of, but it seems there is a little more going on though - anyone know?
Also, how do they get it at just the start of the vocals. Is...
hmm, I didn't notice it in the pot.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=07pLGIgyfjw (stinkfist - about 39 seconds in)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cKnTLrDbcw (can't stand this song - at 2:49)
I like the idea of the backwards delay! I'm gonna try that right now.
love that effect!
Don't want to de-rail, but I've heard something similar and always wondered about it in a couple of songs (although it sounds like more than reverb, like actually the voice of the singer before the singing starts)
like in "Stink Fist" by Tool. edit- I should add, at the very...
thanks guys =) Been having fun -
Been playing with EQ and compressors a lot the past few weeks, but it takes some real radical changes to make any sort of difference. (Also, my microphone barely picks up any signal... old cheap dynamic mic that was kept in the garage for 10 years plus)
It...
So, been searching and can't quite find exactly the answer i'm looking for - Although I've found and bookmarked many threads that are a little over my head for right now.
One of my friends told me, that the main output fader should never be put above 0db. The only reason I can think of is...
^^^^most definitely.
Also, as this will probably be very hard to come by in general - My bet is tabs are nearly impossible to find.
Try looking for sheet music.
Thanks so much! Makes much more sense now, - but messing with a delay VST right now I've become confused again.
So... In this - I have a dry/wet mix knob, an input knob, and an output knob. Not to mention my send level.
So, if I adjust my dry/wet to how I like it I would simply use the send...
Exactly austin, but the "Send" function also has a bar that I can adjust a percentage of from there - so I assume both are to mix the wet/dry signal?
So would it be best to leave one of the knobs at 100% and do adjustments from the other?
Nate beat me to it.
With zero fans, and no body knowing about you - do you really expect to [I]sell[I] your songs on itunes?
Really... All my friends who record at home (And some very well) release their songs for free on myspace. And after the mp3's are available for download - put CD's up...
So, my next venture in my quest is to learn how to use reverb properly.
I've read, and been told that it's best not to insert it onto a track - as you want to control how much of the signal actually gets mixed in (although I like how it sounds through my headphones when I'm singing. makes me...
it does =). I'm wondering if there will really be any sort of difference using any sort of (including expensive) VST insert as an EQ.
But I think I've gotten my answer. Won't be wasting any time or money on extra EQ's.
