MX200 Lexicon Vs. M300 TC

Anyone heard one of these MX200's yet? I'm trying to decide between it and the TC M300. I like the TC stuff and their highend stuff is a little tech overboard so I think I should be happy with this unit to start off. I'm looking for something I can use in a hard wired setup (remember when the...

    I/O unit suggestions

Why did I bother reading this far into the thread? Am I really that hard up for entertainment? Good thing I'm off for the holidays and have time to sort though all this stuff I missed. Wow.

Metalcore Bands and Gibson SG guitars

Any one have opinions as to why they play them so high? I believe it's a combo of a few things. 1. Image, image, image! ...beside's that fact that fashion is probably the strongest element in one of these bands. But besides that has anyone looked at where the volume and tone controls...

HR24 XR Vs. DigiOO2, DigiMaxLT combo

Thanks Adam, I'm very interested in the HD24XR and I think that's where I'll be headed unless an affordable Radar24 comes out. If I'm recording someone on location the track count will be between 12 and 16 and with a laptop setup I'm gonna need a little rack for the interface and pre's anyway.

    Stoner Mix, comments please

Thanks, doin stoner at home is a challenge all these cheap mics and pre available these days are very hyped in the highend. I'm not looking for sharp bright tracks. I'm gonna experiment with some tube mics and the such, that's where I belong. That snare is a picilo and it's been quite a...

HR24 XR Vs. DigiOO2, DigiMaxLT combo

Sure hard drives are cheap but when every track of every take of every song is kept on your computer's hard disk, it calls for extra organization. I don't want to spend all my time geeked out. I will when I have to but I would like to shut the computer off and rock out, capture some tone...

HR24 XR Vs. DigiOO2, DigiMaxLT combo

*Well, if I go dedicated, I'll need a board, the HD24, and some cans. *If I go Mac I'll need, computer, digi002, and lightpipe pre. I think the cost difference could balance between the two, considering if I go HD I'll eventually upgrade my home Mac and spend the difference. I still like...

Crituqe my Stoner Metal Mix please

Thanks, the kit was a challenge. I will boost the vox alittle I'm always fighting the vocal volume trying to keep it down so it doesn't sound too commercial, a genre thing for me. But being the vocalist, there's nothing to be ashamed of in this recording (for once).

HR24 XR Vs. DigiOO2, DigiMaxLT combo

Ok, you guys here it is. I need some pros and cons. Say you had to start over. I want to record full band sessions on location (jam room, laundry mat, pool hall.) and I want atleast 16tracks track to track. I'm trying to decide between buying a HD24 XR and a board or buying a powerbook, a...

Hardcore / Metal band I recorded...critique this mix please

First off, the intro guitar riff is comical. That will sell this track you almost don't have a clue where it's going when the band comes in. First impression, there's some great panning goin on. Main vocals need to be more towards center (not centered just more towards...) and maybe alittle...

    Strings for Recording?

Martin Strings on acoustic hands down. D'addarrio for everything else. When recording electrics keep in mind the larger the string the larger the tone theory.
