    Cubase,Reaktor

For Reactor and Cubase. Check your MIDI configuration. If you use a software Synt, it would be normal that your Soundcard will take care of the Midi. I presume at this moment Reactor uses it's virtual MIDI out port towards the MIDI in of the soundcard. Put "Local of" in Reactor. Maybe you are...

Getting Good Tight Bass guitar sounds?

Hi, I've read a lot about DI's. Also about them being active or not. I haven't red wich signal is used to put in the DI. A DI technique I use with my passive one(don't have another, sorry). I take the(2'nd)speaker output and put it into the Speaker-in of the DI. The balanced line-out of the DI...

    VS 880EX

DaCashman is talking bollocks. I have my VS880EX for a more than a year now and it works without problems. You can set up the HARD-drives in partitions of 500MB, and 1 Giga partitions with a maximum of 4 partitions of 1 Giga. My hard drive has 5 Gig and never gave any problems. A part of the...

Micing Acoustic, Pleeease help : )

Connect your SM57 to your recorder. Place it in a 45% angle towards one of the speakers. Take a jack (1/4)and connect the pre-amp out of your Peavey and connect it directly to your recorder. Mix the two inputs to one track. Avoid using the normal amount of Reverb. Reduce it to half your normal...

Teach me how to use a mic

What I usually do is singing above the microphone. The microphone stands slightly tilted towards me, but at the height of my neck.I let the air float over the mike and not in it. I hardly ever get pops like that. I hope this solved your actual problem. A compressor will not solve this problem...

    preamps

Even a regular tape deck has pre-amps. You can plug a microphone into the deck and send it's line out directly into your computer. :)

    midi system exclusive question

Most sequencer programmes for Midi will accept a MIDI Data Dump. That dump will also contain the Syst.Ex messages. I don't know about a Syst.Ex message editor. Normally before any Midi File starts playing it will first send out the Sys.Ex. messages, so you can always find them in the...

    Syncing, DR770 to VS1680

You should record your MIDI SYNC track into a Tempo Map, and not just only use the Midi Clock. The Tempo Map knows at witch place you are in the song, and will restart playing your Rythem box at the same place where you stopped the song. Even after a rewind or a fast forward on the 1680. Good luck.

    Using a Mic Pre-Amp

Can anyone explain me why using a mic pre-amp is so important? Lately I read about a Bellari witch would be good. I haven't got a mic pre-amp yet, and I'm looking for advise. I would also like to know about transistor pre-amps, because I feel to much accent is put towards the Tubed stuff.Any...

    Imprinting FX

To free up the processor, after a bounce with the effect inserted, you must un-insert that effect to make other effects available for use. You can use a maximum of two inserted effects on every track. The maximum is reduced to 1 effect when you are using MTK effcets, witch are the Mastering...

    What is the vs 890?

What ever you buy, the price is going to sink in three mounths. Do you want a good digital recorder? Do you want to learn about recording? Maybe these things are more important than waiting until computers are for free.

or even (shudder) the 3630 compressor?

Sorry Ed, I haven't had the luck using the Behringer before. But I have read many posts that this RNC (Real Nice Compressor) is an easy to use compressor, with a very good quality. But also that one I haven't had the chance to use. I'm stunned again. I'm just a soul who's intentions are good....

or even (shudder) the 3630 compressor?

Thanks Sonus man. I can appreciate your opinion much better now. But I thought this topic was about the 3630, and I do use one, aldough not so often. I thought your commercial spot on the Behringer would make the 3630 users, and that is what it's about, walk away, instead of learning a lot on...
