8 Ins? I thought it had 4, 2 combo jacks and 2 line in 1/4"....what am I missing?

I have a room already built in my garage I want to turn into a control room. There is an air conditioner put in by my brother. Should I take that out and patch up the way it came out of, or want it matter?

Is it USB? If it is, do all 4 inputs get mixed down to 1 (or 1 L and 1 R) channel, or does it come in as 4 channels?

Yeah, I decided to make the corner room labeled the control room into a vocal room, and make the bigger room the control rooom. I just don't know where to put the desk without it being in the way of getting in the room.

I'm still having problems with my cable. It appears that none of the 1/4" jacks of the combo jacks work. Most of the XLRs work. Some just need some adjusting. Half the returns work, but I should be able to fix those. I don't have a clue about the 1/4" jacks, though. This is what I got.

Also, should the metal 1/4" jacks be touching the metal plate?

I'm looking for an in ear monitor, some kind of small amp, and mic so someone could hear themselves talk. I would like the monitor to only go in one ear and be as small as possible so it's not obvious. Is there a good make/model to get? What about the amp and mic?
