So would it be better to use 1/4" balanced cables out of the mixer into the sound card? It's a 24/96 sound card with RCA inputs so I'd need some kind of adapter?

Is there a maximun lenght you can run RCA cables from say, a mixer to a soundcard? Also, is there anything wrong with using adapters to attach the cables together to get more length? thanks

I've noticed after you do this the punched track is now it's own separate track which creates problems if you then need to edit the track(s) in Edit mode. Like if you wanted to add noise reduction or EQ, you'd have to do it to all tracks. What's the best way to overcome this? Should you...

Okay, so assuming I'm going into a mixer, I'd pan the mics on the mixer as you said. But then in the recording software (AA 1.5,) do I record them as separate tracks? And so I need to pan there as well?

Side question... What's the best way to mix 2 mics for acoustic? Pan each hard L/R or blend them together?

I considered doing a steel string guitar test as well, but turns out I didn't have the time. I had to give back the Octava that I borrowed (reluctantly,) :) I'm glad this test helped you out; it was a learning experience for me as well.
